I was debating on enerting a local pole competition and the deadline was last month. I put together a submission video for the Essential division and was pretty happy with it however, I never submitted it. I was scared of rejection. Thats part of life isnt it? You win some you loose some…but I have been watching others submission videos are public now on youtube. I watched a few of the girls that made it to compete and I REALLY SHOULD HAVE SENT IT IN! My pole instructor Karen said the same thing. Please help me turn this into a positive somehow. I cant afford the ticket to get into the competition for the weekend and take workshops so that sucks too. ..there is always next year i suppose.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Im dancing in my studios open house and showcase tomorrow night though so I can pretend that Im competing and see how it feels to dance in front of a large group of people I dont know..https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I will enter next year and maybe try for the elite.

It is really really really good to get experience dancing in front of people before entering any competition.  I don't know if you have videos up here or not but I would suggest starting taping yourself and sending it to people to get feedback.  There is so much more than being able to bust out moves….extension, musicality, position of your body in respect to audience, pointed toes, flow….so many things each and every video/performance is judged on.  Preparing for your performance is greuling also so if you were unsure about it this year it is probably for the best that you held back.

yeah i agree… I have the toes, the flow, and proper technique however my list of tricks is not very large but what I can do ,I do it well.Although I flow with the music its hard for me to to choose the best timing for certain tricks and what list of combos I am able to do being that my flexibility could be better. ( working on that as well ).I will post the video on here later and see what yall say.
