I’m a beginner. I’m almost finished with the 30 day program of venna. Anyways I attempted to do the inverted crucifix and elbow stand for the first time. I uploaded the videos I know they suck. I need advice? On the elbow stand I can’t keep the weight off my neck and on the crucifix what’s the best way to dismount. Also do u think I am ready to be attempting this. I know I need patience but I also am big on safety. So who ever has time can u see my two aweful videos I uploaded and give me tips. TIA and god bless. 🙂

I would honestly say you should condition a little more before trying to add inverts to your regimen, but you are strong enough to do some inverted prep. If you can get into the inverted crucifix from the ground, by putting your hands down in a handstand position and sliding one leg then the other up the pole, you can hold the inverted crucifix then tuck your body up and get your hands in invert position, then do a controlled tuck down from the invert.

When you try to invert next, definitely lower those hands and walk your feet forward a step so you’re not trying to get that leg up so far. I think you’re right on the edge, if you’re already this far after 30 days you’ll be up there soon!

And since you did the 30 day kickoff, I definitely suggest sticking with Veena’s lessons since she has lots of invert conditioning (including the reverse hand stand i described, I believe) that will get you flying!

I agree you're so close! I would suggest working on the Intermediate lessons that lead up to the basic invert. Remember, all lessons are placed in order so once you've finished the 30 days you should still try to follow the lesson order. After the 30 days you will probably be able to skip around the beginner section, but you'll want to start at the beginning of the Intermediate section. Even if you're not ready to invert take a look at some of the other Intermediate lessons because many are taught from the floor first or from the reverse handstand so you don't need to invert right away. Also things like Climbs will help you build strength for inverting. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hi, congrats on getting to the invert! My advice would be to try everything from the floor. The invert is the same pose as when you are "standing" on the pole , so try it upside down from the floor first. Try curling up like you would in an invert, building your core. We have an invert core class nearby that does everything working on your core. If you build up that, you'll be strong enough to invert in no time! Keep practicing and let us know how it goes!
