  • Installing Xpert Xpole in unfinished basement…

So, i've got an xpert xpole up in my bedroom. I'm getting much better with my moves, and am ready to move on to the next level, which requires more space than the 4sqft i have for myself in my bedroom. Unfortunately, my lazy boyfriend has promised dozens of times to put it up in the basement for me. He still has yet to do this, so I shall take matters into my own hands.

I'm wanting to put the pole up in my basement, which has unfinished ceiling and rafters/beams are 14in apart, and the dome for the xpole is 16inches. Anyone have an idea of how i could install my pole? Should I screw up some pieces of wood on top of the beams? I think balancing the pole dome in between 2 beams would be quite dangerous/damaging to my pole.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated!

I know there was another that discussed this but I cannot seem to locate it.

I posted that thread chemgoddess linked…

I have a PS pole, but the top dome is very similar to X-Pole's. You can see in the photo how there is a piece of drywall installed across 3 beams… that is  where I put mine, on the center beam covered by drywall. It works great 🙂 I'm moving the pole to another part of the basement and I plan on using a thick piece of wood or more drywall this time (depending on what's cheaper, I'm not sure), again installed across the 3 beams.

So yes, drill in a big piece of wood/drywall (I used about 6 nails on each beam to secure it) and you should be alright. It's a pretty simple job, plus with unfinished ceilings you don't have to worry about making sure you hit the joist lol 🙂

I would suggest mounting the pole on one joist and making sure it is centered.  You can also fit a dome plate for added security if you'd like.  Feel free to call X-Pole directly at 888-976-5387 M-F 9a-5p PT if you have any other questions.
