Here is a link to the website.  It just aired so I think it should have a live link for the clip soon.

I just get a preview, but I don't even bother watching shows like this anymore. Male hosts almost always relate it to being taboo, while the female hosts (who have usually taken a class) try to explain how DIFFICULT it is just to do a pole hold. The men can't really say because they haven't tried and probably don't want to appear gay.  BECAUSE REMEMBER EVERYONE, IF YOU POLE DANCE YOU ARE A DISGUSTING STAIN ON SOCIETY. You spend your nights taking your clothes off and snorting coke in your strip club job. And if you're  GUY and you pole dance, you're obviously gay and that's wrong, too.

God I hate the media -_-

I wasn’t able to open the link, but could see the home page. They have a picture of a girl about 10, doing a V carosel. They have her face blurred out as if she was naked!!!! That should have been a clue right there!

If they wanted to keep her anonymous they could have just pictured her from behind, sheesh. Blurring it out does equate it with nudity for me too!

My 14 and 6 yr old boys can’t wait till I put my pole up in my living room so they can really play on it….my 14 yr old is so impressed with how much strength it takes to pole..

I don't watch this show (not sure it even airs on the channels I can see as I'm in Canada and work during the time it would typically air anyway), but I'm guessing due to the image being the same that they are discussing this Vancouver class? http://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2012/09/14/New-Posers/ I had commented at the Tyee article because I was pretty disappointed at the tone it took (and surprised as the Tyee had done a pretty good profile of a pole dance busker awhile back http://thetyee.ca/Life/2011/08/30/Public-Pole-Dancing/  that I really liked).

I would give the studio the benefit of the doubt that they tailored the children's class to be more childlike and focus on the playful and fitness aspects rather than the erotic. There is for sure an erotic history to pole dance. But that's the case of many art forms. Ballet, back in the day, was very much *not* a persuit for proper ladies (to put it as mildly as one possibly can!), but now it's a completely acceptable class to get kids involved in. Some modern ballets can still be quite erotic, but those aren't the ones that we get kids to dance in. I'd expect that would also be the case here, so I can't see exactly what the fuss is about.

I saw someone mention that comments are being left on the Anderson Facebook page but I can't find it myself so would appreciate if someone would post a link.

Yes, the girl in the promo is Justice Hailey!  I have it recorded on my DVR but I havent watched it yet.  Im worried if I do watch it, its just gonna get me fired up about the whole ordeal.

People just have to get a grip!  My kids twirl around any pole they have seen.  They find it funny, its not like they are booty popping or doing this in thier underwear.

I wouldn't mind if I had kids and they did pole in their underwear. I pole in my underwear. I'd assume their father would pole in his underwear (only in my dreams will the father of my children ever pole..)

I don't get why parents get all butthurt about pole when they say pole is sexual and they're showing so much skin. When I go to waterparks here in Phoenix, I am normally wearing more clothing than 90% of the 6 year olds. Just because it's a bathing suit doesn't make it okay for you toddler to walk around in a bandaeu top and a scrunch butt near-thong bottom. Maybe it's one of those things that I would have to be a parent to understand?

I just throught this comment was hilarious!!!  My first thought this morning was: Woohoo I won my fantasy football game and my bruises make me look like it too!  Somehow the comment that poletrickster shared and my thought from this morning just don't add up!

I caught the show yesterday on ctv and I was like ''omg!!!'' very very discouraged at all the prejudice. even goldie hawn who tried pole at her daughters house(kate hudson). seriously…and saying '' oh well if you make the girls pole dance at a young age you will send them off to work in stripclubs because there is nothing else to do with pole'' I felt like smacking him silly.

They dont get that the classes teach fitness and not '' stripper 101''. I can understand with the names of some classes it can lead to confusion but does he really think that the teachers that teaches adults a sexy wamrup will really be stupid enough to do the same with kids?

also..to a child a stripper or stripclub doesnt exist. they dont know what it is, If you teach the child that a pole is for stripping then thats how they wil see it. If you show them its about the fitness, strength, and the circus aspect of it thats how they will see it.

To be honest I am suprised someone like Anderson, who openly admitted to being homosexual, would be so closed-minded. As someone commented on his page, associating pole fitness, for kids or adults, with stripping is  like associating homosexuals with aids. It's just not right.

The way he treated his guests was increadibly rude and unprofessional. I've never really watched the show, but this particular segment says a lot about how "objective" he is. If this is how he handles a subject he does not agree with, I would rather not watch his show at all.

Well this is not about the show… but it was posted on my video I made with my boys a few mins ago …..

    Quote:

Well, someone has to state the obvious, so here it goes: You are a stupid whore. Your kids will grow up to be stupid. You will never realize you are stupid. You haven't thought of the negative connotations of kids pole-dancing, well, because you don't THINK very often. The same people that support this are desperately trying to legalize child porn as well (looking at you, Huffposers). I'm sure as Rome was turning into a decadent hellhole. there were throngs of people calling it "progressive."

People are ignorant and there is nothing we can do to change that. It's up to us to just ignore them and move on. We know there are many sides to pole and there is a style of pole for everyone! xoxo
