I own a pole fitness studio and we are getting ready to expand to a larger location.  We currently have the typical gym mirrors all along one wall but I am looking for something a little nicer and more 'interesting' in the new studio. Do any of you go to a studio with a cool or unique set up?  I even like the look of individually framed mirrors but I am worried about having blind spots where either I can't see the students clearly or they can't seem themselves in the mirror.  I've thought about using smaller mirrors and making some type of design or shape.

If your studio has an interesting setup you like I'd love to hear about it. I'm also open to hearing other interesting and functional designs you love about your studio.

My studio has the main wall completely covered in mirrors, and then huge framed mirrors along the other wall. If I could pick one or the other, I would pick the plain mirrors because I think seeing myself is more important than making the studio look cute. You can see them here

I feel the same way as sassy. I’ve been in studios with smaller mirrors or mirrors with bevels and other obstructions and felt like they hindered my improvement. Depending on the size of your studio, if you have two rooms for two simultaneous classes, one can be cutesy and the other can purely fitness based.

I like having full walled mirrors. Helps so that the students can see themselves, and so the teacher has eyes in the back of their head! 🙂 Every studio that I have been to has had at least one wall completely mirrored. If you have that at least, I think you can do whatever else you would like for the decorative aspect. Honestly though, I like at least 2 of the walls mirrored if possible. And there can be other decorative aspects other than mirrors that can help make it feel less like a plain dance studio.

One of the studios I go to has these huge framed mirrors which really add to the feel of the place.  I also really like the mirrors that have the rope or LED lighting under them as mood enhancers.  For me being able to daken the studio is more important than mirrors.

In my studio we have the mirrors that align the entire wall — but I outlined the mirrors with lights and boas (just plain xmas lights) — the boas cover up the wire so the lights shine through.  This way you get maximum exposure in the mirror and its cute and sexy!
