Inverted crucifix help
Okay when I was taking studio lessons way back in the beginning (over a 1 1/2 years ago) I was able to nail the inverted crucifix a few times. Sure, I slid down a little but at least i was able to get into it and hold it for a few seconds.
I just recently started trying to get it back. I am having a HUGE problem with it…I keep sliding down the pole before I can get my body lined up with the pole and into the inverted crucifix positioning. It's soooo frustrating. I have even tried the move from the floor (been doing this almost daily for last 2 weeks) and it feels like my legs are holding tight enough from the floor but when I try to get into it from a v invert or basic invert, I can't hold even the basic invert long enough to even try to start to get into the inverted crucifix. #1 my legs don't feel like they are gripping enough #2 my hands seem to have no grip or strength I can't tell if it's 1 or both???= I slide down quickly before I can get into position. I'm trying to take my time and be patient but at the same time, I'd really like to meet my goal of nailing it before Jan 1st but it is seeming grim!
Anyone have any tips? Does wearing shoes help hold the grip better? Itac? What might help? I am determined to get this because the inverted crucifix is the gateway to so many of the intermediate and advanced moves and I want progress dammit!
