I recently found out about Epic Nerd Camp (http://www.epicnerdcamp.com/), a special grown-up geeky summer camp. It’s 4 day of nerdy fun set at an existing summer camp WITH A MASSIVE CIRCUS DEPARTMENT. (And rock climbing walls!) It’s a weird feeling to need to pack my dungeons & dragons books with my aerial & climbing gear! I’m barely containing my excitement with the confluence of so many of my hobbies!!
Since I’ll be in & out of the sun all day with my various activities, I’m looking for a sunscreen that I can apply before my circus activity block & not be wicked greasy & slippery. I don’t know my schedule yet, but the base itinerary doesn’t seem like I’ll have time to shower between activities.

Any products you guys like to use for outside aerial stuff?

This place sounds amazing!!!!! I would think that a waterproof spray on sunblock would be the best way to go. Anytime I have ever used a spray on I couldn’t tell I had anything on my skin; no slip, no grease, sweat proof and it dries pretty much on contact. While I can’t say that I have used it for outdoor aerial stuff, given my experience with it, its the only recommendation I have.

I haven’t tried the spray stuff for aerial or pole, guessing it would work for anything silks related but become slick on poles or other metal/powder coated finishes. So that’s a good idea! I haven’t found anything, so I try to limit my time in the sun while poling, hooping what have you or place my apparatus in the shade.
