Is there another name for the Catapult?
Posted by NessaJa on April 10, 2014 at 10:20 amHey all… I was watching a video of Nicole the pole Williams and she was showing how to do this move called the catapult, but I can’t find this move anywhere… Soo I was wondering if any of you lovely people could tell me if it has any other names ? Thanks 🙂

Or maybe try to describe it? 🙂
I don’t know it either based on that name. -

From the description it almost sounds like what she does after the knee hold in this video (about 2:20 in)

OK, now I understand. All she is doing is a grounded entry into butterfly and then taking it all the way over.

In that second video she takes it to a shoulder dismount.

Michelle Stanek does it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnBmTUzxlT8
around the 6:20 mark. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do it! -
Oh cool ta 🙂
I can do it, no where near as pretty in these videos. It kinda feels like it won’t work til you actually bite the bullet and do it. I’ll try and post a video soon :p but be warned my video wont be neat and tidy hahahaha -
I didn’t know that combo had a name. I wonder if it wasn’t Felix first introducing it in her 2010 Worlds performance. I tried it back then and it’s scarier than it looks since you have to allow for a little drop when trowing the shoulder over to the other side of the pole. I’ve not tried the cupid entry that Michelle stanek did, but it’s the same principle. You can see Felix do it two times before she comes down from the pole starting 4:25.
