I just started practicing today. Meh, it's hard! Mostly because I need more back flexibility. I struggle on a 50mm pole. 45mm is waaay easier but I don't have one readily available for me to practice on. I like Marion Crampe's youtube tutorial, she goes through the move very thoroughly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeRUIburcmo&feature=related

She makes it look so easy! lol

I started working on it about 2wks ago…off and on, and Just this past Tuesday I was able to let my one hand go for 2 seconds. Thats a big deal in my book! So Just keeeeeep at it and it will click. You just have to program it into your muscle memory,  then each time it gets a bit easier and before too long you'll just nail it! Thats it works for me anyways

Practicing this move as well…get a little closer everytime. I find it a little easier on the 45 and near impossible on 50.  Oh well, Im gonna keep plugging away lol. I do like to enter it from Brass Monkey though..just makes better sense to me.

uhhh, I loveee this move! i have tried it less than 10 times and never gotten it on my own, but my studio instructor guided my top foot once and once you get that foot over, you got it! it feels so good, can't wait to get it on my own! lol, just ordered my first xpole, and cannot wait until it gets here!!!

Ah funny, I was about to post about this too 'cos it's my current project move too!! I used Marion's tutorial as a guide but went in from a BM instead of the layback because I find it a bit more secure. I've managed to get to a position that I feel like is the right one and can remove my hand but have only got pics of my not so good ones. What I seem to be struggling with is not so much balancing but looking at the photos, the pole is not quite in the right position across my butt/back (in the photo, it kinda lines up with half way along one butt cheek when I should be more sideways and the pole past the butt towards my back) and I'm not sure if it's just because it's not my good version or if I'm just wrong in general!! There's a good thread here on SV with tips in it too – just do a search:)

I also used Marion's tutorial and got it with the help of my friend Agent Kat – straight away.  You don't need that much back flexbility – to me, it feels more like you get that hip in position on your shelf and let your body go UPwards and sideways.  My issues with it were because I was not turning my lower back into the pole and was still too inverted.

I am still hit or miss with it if I don't have a mirror or Agent Kat watching me but overall it's gotten much easier if I think about turning my torso out and feeling the pole in my lower back.

Oh and in regards to pole size – I have not tried this on a 50 but on my 40 the other night I held it an epically long time *for me* lol!
