    Hi Ladies,

i'm not sure how many of you know about this, but i started an organization in the NYC area called FLIGHT CLUB.

We sponsor open pole practices and jams in manhattan, and also organize non-competitive pole showcases. we are open to anyone, no matter what studio affiliation, age, ability, weight, color, sex, style, or… well, you get the drift!

we just had our first awesomely successful showcase last weekend: 13 acts, 16 performers, 2 poles, over 120 attendees. for most of the performers, it was their first time on stage! we had a couple of people from out of the NYC metro area, one performer even coming from north carolina! there was no audition required. if you wanted to be part of it, you just needed to register. people were randomly selected out of that list to perform.

we're already gearing up for another showcase in the summer. it will be bigger, better, and possibly more awesome.

the goal of FLIGHT CLUB is to foster a sense of community, sharing, play, and FUN. I just finished the website for it, and there are links to join the mailing list for tickets for the next showcase when they go on sale, and also to be added to the notification list for when we are accepting registrations for performers for the next showcase as well =)

I wish we had such a dedicated pole dancer here in Germany. So great what you are doing, I would immediatly join one of your jams if I could!

More tired than I thought, kept reading it as Fight Club and was like you're not supposed to talk about it!! LOL

I'm so on and off with pole, getting involved would probably help me keep on it more.  Living on Long Island, I really have no excuse to not get involved.  Signed up for ticket notifications.

The name is meant to be a play on Fight Club— we're a fight club of pole dancers! =) but yes, we talk about it. glad to have you aboard!

really guys– please spread the word if you can. this isn't about making money, or being famous, but it's really and truly about bringing opportunities to people who want them. if you know of anyone who might be interested, please let them know!

I wish this was in UK, such a cool idea! There's a few showcases here but they usually revolve around schools so only teachers promoting their studios are invited i.e professional levels only 🙁  May have to make a trip to NYC to check Flight Club out!!

Ollie, I was frustrated that there weren’t more amateur performance opportunities in NYC…. So I made one 🙂 maybe you could too!

I think that's absolutely FAB. I wish I didn't live several states away!!! Your pole jams look so fun (and so productive!) and I'm sure the performances were, too.

@emotioncatcher I am dying to move back to Germany (was only there for 3 months), if I ever make it happen we can start a club. 🙂

Oh nice!!!! My friend from ECP said she was performing at Flight Club and I was wondering why there's pole dancing there. LOL!!! It's a sneaker consignment shop too. http://www.flightclubny.com/

Thanks for the support ladies! We’d love to have you next time you’re in NYC 🙂 the net showcase will be in July if you’re planning to come to visit… 🙂

Heathalynne, that’s a silly name for a sneaker store. I think it works much better for a pole organization. Hm, I think I was in class with you a couple weeks back?

Haha yes I agree, more pole appropriate. It's been around in NYC & LA. *shrug* Doubt there's many sneakerhead polers out there though. 🙂

And yup! That was me. Burned out and way too tired! LOL!
