Hi everyone! Brand new to StudioVeena, semi-new to pole (within the past year). I’m in beginner-intermediate classes at my local pole studio. I notice that when I climb, or when I use spinny pole, I often end up with gross and painful hematomas at the POC – on top of my feet. I imagine that I’m putting too much pressure on my feet, but I’m not sure how to change that. Any ideas? Has anyone else ever dealt with frequent hematomas? What’s the best way you’ve found to treat them?

    Thank you!

Get the foot protector anklets from Mighty Grip. I used to get the same thing, egg-sized and disgusting. It interfered with my running because I couldn’t lace my shoes after a pole class! These are about $20 on Amazon. Totally worth it.

Oh wow, thank you! I had no idea those existed. 🙂

They do start to get better over time 🙂
Also, once you build up the strength to do a nice pointed toes climb, you shouldn’t be gripping the pole with the top of your foot, so you won’t get the hematoma.
