I will not have access to pole for about 4-6, (maybe more) months. Any suggestions on attempting to keep up with grip strength?

I'm finally at terms and can work with my excessive sweaty hands and body. I recall I started poling and about 6 months later had surgery (unrelated) and I just had to start all over. Uggh.

But while I'm away I will be exercising multiple times a day -6 days a week (pull ups, push ups, core). Just not a much wrist grip exercising, I believe. So when I do come back with my super hot and strong body, I don't want to tear any wrist muscle (possible?) because I haven't gripped a 50mm vertical pole and supported myself a spin/invert in a while. I understand I will take a few steps back from where I am when I leave, I just don't want to return to start, if I don't have to.

Any suggestions, links to discussions I missed, or the cold truth of be patient when I come back?

Power ball.  Lots of threads here about them.  For a $40 investment they are an wesome product.

Thanks ChemGoddess! Would rolled socks work? Can’t take a power-ball in personals.

    Personals?

What makes the powerball work so well is that it is a gyroscope and has an outward force which in turn makes you grip tighter to keep a hold of it.  There are a couple of other grip strength things that you can buy if you look on climbing and guitar sites.  I kinda like the powerball because it lites up (if you buy that version).

There are also quite a few exercises you can do for your wrists/forearms.  I thought V had a few here and you can probably find quite a few online.  Even hanging from a pull up bar for any length of time will help your grip strength.

Going into the military. So bootcamp- I will be doing a lot of exercises, but unsure of grip for vertical bar. Yes-pull ups, yes rope climbing.
No extra stuff to bring= Contraband. So I was wondering if rolled socks would be okay. Yet Sgt says they’re good for stress release, maybe not good enough for up keep. Or maybe doing the power ball routines with the socks??
I just don’t want to pull down the bunks while sneaking an invert. No Ma’am!

Can you take a tennis ball? They’re pretty good for working on grip and forearms.

For wrist strength, Veena posted this video on YouTube some time back:

I can’t take anything with me.
    I was thinking of exercises.
The power ball videos on YouTube deem helpful to perform.
    Thank you!!

JhennD, if you can't take anything with you, then I'd do Veena's wrist workout with whatever weight you can find — filled water bottles, cans, a jerry can… I do bicep curls with grocery bags walking home sometimes. :X Just use a weight you can get a grip on.

That's assuming you don't have access to free weights or dumbbells, of course, which you might!

I don't know if you can do powerball stuff with rolled-up socks, because you won't get the gyroscopic action, but you can probably do the tennis ball stuff to some degree.
