I need some personal experiences related to having a LEEP done.

Kind of a weird place to ask this kind of question as it is a public forum……but we are all so tight here as a community and I have seen people ask some pretty private type things………….so I figured, I would jump in her with my pole sistahs and ask away~~
    I love this community!!

They have been messing around with flippin punch biopsies for months and the latest results came back CIN 1.
They want me to book a LEEP. Now, my argument is that 6 months ago, I didn’t show any signs of cervical dysplasia. I am pushing for a partial hysterectomy. I am 38. I am done birthing babies as mine are 19 and 15. LOL
They would rather do the LEEP first. So, I get to play their game once more. However, I have told them, if this doesn’t work, I am taking control. No one advocates for me…..better than me~~

    Anyway……

Now, I have others tell me it is wickedly painful. However, those same people also find the biopsies painful. I don’t.

In my knowledge…………The upper 2/3 of the vagina do not have "feeling". I don’t generally feel much at all when they do the cervical biopsies.

That being said though…………the oncologist hit my cervical nerve the last time and sent me into a wonderful weird state………I went all loopy and in and out of a conscious state. Weird………Never happened before.

Anyway~~I was wondering if any of you fab ladies have had one done and could offer me your personal experience with the procedure.

    Huge thanks
    reenie

ETA—-If anyone is uncomfortable with sharing it on the forum…..please don’t hesitate to send me a PM.

    Again……….Love you all and thanks!!

I had issues for 4 years until they did a leep on me. They numb you from what I remember and its over in 2mins. I didn’t feel any pain, felt just like a biopsy to me. I haven’t had any problems since then and that was 19 mths ago..well worth it!

    Hi Reenie,
I’m a nurse and I have assisted with numerous LEEPs throughout my career and it shouldn’t be that painful. They do numb you up so of course you may feel the stick of the needle and you tend to get a warm flushing feeling in your face when the lidocaine goes in (I always thought that was wierd LOL) but besides that you just lay there and let the good doctors work. Of course everyone experiences pain differently so to some it may be pretty horrible and to others not so bad. You sound like a tough cookie, so I think you’ll be fine.

Side note….I love patients that take their care into their own hands and don’t go along with just anything. You do have a say in what happens to your body. Remember that.

It has been booked for Sept 13th. LMAO….
We will see if my menses decide to play the game. I have really irregular cycles, so I told them~ good luck with trying to nail me a week after my cycle.

    Oye!
    ANyway~~thanks for the insight!

I have also had a LEEP done, I’ve been going through having abnormal paps/biopsies every 3 months or so for the past 4 years so I feel your pain literally and figuratively https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif My gyno actually put me under anaesthesia because he didn’t want me to have any discomfort at all and I didn’t since I was knocked out, so if you are worried you might be able to ask if that would be an option for you? I actually had it done in a hospital because my gyno office is actually part of a big hospital so it wasn’t hard for him to do it that way but it seems like everyone else has had it done in office so I’m not sure if that’s even possible.

I have also had drastic changes in a short time, I had a normal pap and then three months later was called in for a biopsy so I know how frustrating it can be, I’m due for another one in August and I am already dreading it!!! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions! Good luck and good for you for staying on top of this, a lot of women are too scared to go the gyno so I always love seeing women who know what they need to do to have healthy lady business areas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I had leep done about 3 years ago. They found type 2,3 & 4 cancer cells and I also have cervical dysplacia & endometriosis. They put me under for my LEEP procedure. I had no issues and no pain after. Hope all goes well for you darling. Here is to a speedy recovery https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif.

Thought I would update this thread………..

I had the LEEP done today.(Loop Electrical Excision Procedure) In short, an electrified wire loop is used to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix.

Well, I felt nothing. Had no issues whatsoever. It was over before I knew it and I watched the whole thing on the screen.

I was panicking yesterday about it…..really anxious. Got some excellent reassurance from one of our SV gals(thanks sissy) and off I went this afternoon to the cancer clinic to get it done.

I have to wait for the results and subsequently, follow up in 6 months……but I wanted to share my experience with anyone who may have to have one done.

    Huge hugs to all
    reenie

I had a LEEP done over 6 years ago. It hurt but only because the numbing drugs didn’t take completely before they started the procedure! I cried through the procedure and was pretty sobby after it was done as well. And I’m no lightweight when it comes to pain, I had all THREE of my kids natural with no pain meds! But I am so happy I did it I haven’t had another abnormal pap since. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I had one back when I was 16 for precancerous cells on my cervix. For me becuase I was young at the time, and obviously not used to having my bits looked at in the fist place, I was put under durring the procedure. (I had no problem with the biopsy was awake the whole time) Well I go to the hospital, get put under, the whole nine yards. When I woke up I was in the most terrible pain of my life (they gave me 2 shots of morphine for it) and sent me home with some antibiotics and pain medicine. I was bed ridden for 2 weeks before I was able to return to school and such, but was sore for about a month in total. If your going to be awake for it, it may be different but thats what I went though.
