has anyone seen Leigh Anns Be Spun Dvd set yet? am dying to buy it but dont know if want to get the whole set as am not sure if the beginner dvd will be too beginner or if there is enough floorwork and filler moves to make it worth it. Any opinions?

Oh she’s am amazing pole dancer I love her style I get the impression she’s not as "down with the people" as Veena is have wrote to her several times to tell her I admire her work and to ask about her dvd set but she has not responded .. She owns a pole studio in Cali called Be Spun Its a 3 dvd box set but may only want the advanced dvd as have been very disappointed by getting Beginner/Inter. dvds before only to find I already know all the moves (good and bad thing I guess) Well thanks anyway https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Aww, that’s too bad that she’s not as reachable- it’s always so exciting when somebody like that writes you back you know? "Be Spun" sounds like a cute name for a studio. I’ve never actually watched a DVD for pole moves, just youtube and classes and stuff like Veena’s website- I’ll have to check into her advanced dvd!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_joker.gif

Heh, I’m the opposite, there’s always something to be learnt from basic/inter dvds I feel, even if it’s a way of explaining the move that I hadn’t considered before. I would like to start teaching at some point (probably a long way away, but still…) and any information I can get my hands on is really useful

Taylor, I feel the "must have" pole dancing dvd collection is Jamilla’s Art of Pole set. She’s amazing.

I have the Art of Pole series and it is amazing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif yes i agree even if your a more advanced pole dancer you could possibly benefit from a begginer dvd but in this case i learned NOTHING https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
not transitions, not floorwork moves, not a mini routine, not anything I was so disappointed I really look foward to getting new dvds soon though and am still thinking of getting leigh anns beginner as i think she will have alot of twirls, floorwork, filler moves ect to be learned also want to get a chair dancing dvd if anyone knows of any good ones https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif thanks

Hi There! A good friend of mine who owns 2 pole studios advised me not to purchase them. She said it was very similar to her Youtube videos (which are outstanding to watch), however, she felt the videos did not break down the moves well.

    Blessings…

Ya I was a little hesitant to buy the box set (or even the advanced dvd for that matter as 1. she never replied to my requestS for more info https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif 2. It says it ends its advanced dvd with extended butterfly (which I don’t find that advanced I can do basic ) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif I just thought might be worth it if it helps with floorwork/filler moves as I always just do 1 spin/trick after another well glad I just got the 1 and not the box set live and learn well Jamila’s Art of Pole is really excellent https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I just ordered Jamilla’ s box set yesterday. I ‘m pretty excited about it!

I’ll second the comment about it being difficult to get a hold of Leigh Ann. She is an awesome dancer and I am a regular subscriber to her vids. I know she is a stunt trainer for movie stars or something, so maybe she is just super busy all the time… A few years ago she was in the running for on-line Playmate of the Year and did a video asking for votes for her submission. I couldn’t get the link to work and PM’ed her for the right http link and she didn’t answer–so I couldn’t cast the vote! Follow up is important–especially in a people profession like fitness and training…

I do know that Jamilla, Alena (and of course, our very own Veena!) do cultivate and build relationships carefully and that would be an important factor in deciding which instructional videos to purchase.

And of course, when little Henry is walking and Veena and the webmaster have enough time to burn those lessons onto DVD, Leigh Ann and Jamilla will have a little competition, LOL!

When can I place my order??!!

ya to me thats a bit of a turn-off i realize people are busy, but who isn’t? i work 2 jobs and have alot of other things going on yet I find a few minutes almost everyday to respond to these forums and it’s not like i’m asking for votes or asking you to buy my dvd, but then not being able to take the time to crank out a 30 second response i just don’t like that i think it’s amazing that Veena with 4 kids can still manage to be out here enough that you don’t feel like your on your own with things and to feel like your actually getting to know her
I just find her so much more down to earth I’m really glad I only bought 1 of leighanns dvds as my feeling are if you can’t be bothered neither can I thats how i am in real life i dont care how beauutiful/handsome, talented, rich, ect you are, if you have a snobby or arrogant attitude I automatically think you are eons less attractive than originally thought https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif i realize having alot of "fans" can goto your head, but come on… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif

I took classes at BeSpun ( the name is cute they do pole and spinning there) honestly I liked the spin classes much better…I was looking to supliment my S Factor classes as they are more dance based – so I wanted something more pole based. I will add that while I did not take class with Leigh Ann…I was NOT happy with my class.

Everything was kinda not well organized. It was kinda all over the place. Now this was not a session class but a drop in – so who knows. Maybe the session classes are better set up. I didn’t really learn much.

To make a long story short…not much spotting, teacher would get GRUMPY when you asked her to break stuff down better. Blech…

I consider myself to be somewhere in the intermediate range…and my friend who bought all the 3 dvd’s said I should skip the first two as they will be a waste. All that being said I think I will still get the advanced DVD as I am a pole dvd junky LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif will let you know how it is.

ok your going to get that sae sour-puss attitude in the video ( i have the advanced and you would be wating your $ if youare intermediate) the 2 girls in the video do not smile not once they look like its the last thing they want to be doing the camera angles look like .. well i wont say but sometimes the close ups of the crotch area that thats all you can see no idea what the rest of the bodys doing moves are not broken down well there really is no floor work other than basics in warm up ( crawling opening legs ) very similar to her you tube vids only thing is good for is combos if you already know the moves but honestly you could get the same thing on you tube

A good series is jamillas art of pole she is excellent https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
