Lil Mynx vs Pole Danzer poles?
Posted by Melrose on December 26, 2012 at 11:00 pmHello! I was wondering if anyone is familiar with Lil Mynx and Pole Danzer poles? I’m a big LM fan, but recently I’ve heard really good things about Pole Danzer poles. I’d appreciate any feedback, especially on Pole Danzer poles since I’ve never been on one 🙂 Thanks!

I don't have a ton of experience on poledanzers, but I have been on them and read up on them quite a bit. From my dancing experience with the poledanzer permanent poles I have used, when they are installed correctly they are very solid and well constructed poles that feel and function beautifully. The brass finish is a good classic brass, which is personally not my preference but poledanzer uses the perfect brass for dance poles, whatever kind they're using.
I suggest you try one before buying if possible…and I don't suggest you buy off my reccomendation alone. But my personal experience indicates that poledanzer permanent poles are a good product when installed correctly and the experiences of others that I've read about seem to generally confirm that sentiment.

Are you looking for home or studio installment? I have only been on PD's installed poles, not on their party pole. I have heard that their stainless has the grip of chrome. Their brass is very grippy and is well known at strip clubs. Their spin option is off the hook being the fastest and smoothest on the market that I know of.
Both poles are quality and both companies have great customer support. As PRD stated if you can try to find a studio near you that has PD's to try out.

We have 2 inch PD stainless poles at one of our studios and I love them. The stainless has a great grip. Customer service is very good with them.
I dont care for the party pole as much when it comes to a removable pole as the top and base are only 4"x4" diameter so not much area to grip the ceiling and floor. Plus the adjuster rod is fully exposed and because it's pressure mounted, the locking pin for spin mode is difficult to remove once the pole is secured in place.

Thx ladies! I’m looking for perm studio poles. No one around here (VA) has PD poles unfortunately. Can you tell me how the spin mechanism works? LM has been my fav (great product, excellent customer service!) but the warrenty on PD is pretty impressive…

The ones I have seen at Infinity work like this: the bottom plate cover lifts up (the whole thing) and there is a long bar/pin that slides in and out to make it spin/not spin. Take the bar out, drop the plate and go. On their main page site you can actually see the mechanism. Where they have the "Party Bar for walls, ceilings or floors" there is hardware. The first and last pic are what the plates look like that slide up and down and the second pic is the floor piece. It is hard to see but at the top of that square piece right above the bearing is the pin.

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE my stainless steel Pole Danzer poles. They are permanent and amazing. As Chemmie said, I feel the grip is equal to or even surpasses chrome, and if our have a nickel allergy, these are the bomb. The quality of the Pole Danzers is unsurpassed. The spin is smooth and friendly. There are other brands whose spin will start of greatly, but there will inevitably be problems within a year of studio use. However, it’s not an effortless transition from static to spin. You need to lift the base cover and push the pin out. To go back to static, you need to take the time to put back the pins exactly right. My pins only go in ONE way. It also took me a little bit to get used to the small shift in movement on the pole. Because it is a pin that prevents the pole from going into spin mode, there has to be some leeway for the pin to go in & out which results in that little shift. All in all, I have to say that Pole Danzers are more than worth their cost. I don’t see myself ever using a different brand for my studio!

Odd I've never heard of Pole Danzer brand until now when I read this post. I'm actually very interested and will look into their poles! I absolutely adore stainless steel and was thinking about getting a Platinum Stages one. Thanks ladies!

When you say shift of movement in the pole… What does that mean? I’m looking for poles that will go up to 14-16′ for my studio (with a vaulted mount). So you think these poles will be good at these heights? With a vaulted mount? I also have not used ss poles…how do these poles compare to platinum stages? Any experienced feedback is helpful! Thanks 🙂

I would call Poledanzer and talk to them as I am not sure about that height with a vaulted mount.
The little shift is not unlike what you feel with the pin on the PS poles. There is a little movement of the pole spin wise and that is just from the small amount of space you need in the hole for the pin so that you can get it in and out. There is similar movement with X Poles also due to the way the base is designed.
PD has RIDICULOUS spin capability….I have never been on any other brand that spins as fast or as smoothly as theirs do. I have not been on their stainless but I believe that Mary Ellyn has them at one of her studios. Their stainless I have heard is similar to a well broken in PS pole.
I know a lot of strip clubs use poledanzer. They have been around for quite some time.

I haven’t used a PS pole but rather only xpoles. Do you mean that the movement is like when the x screws are not all the way inand there is a little clicking back and forth…or, is the little movement the distance the pin needs in order to be unlocked for spin mode. I just called danzer and there was no answer. I not sure where they are located so it may be too early. I’m also not sure how I will fair with a different finish other than chrome. That being said, xpole can not accommodate the heights I need since I’ve spoken with Kimara at great lengths about it. :-/. I keep seeing these square mats under the danzer poles in many of the pics… Is that just to show off the base of the pole? I keep trying to find pictures of studios who use their poles, haha.

(note, she had them cut a little shorter to accomodate new flooring she was planning on putting in)
I believe Shine Fitness also has PD: http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/302865_393622784051334_433529756_n.jpg

The movement is exactly like when the x screws are not in all the way.
