Like I said earlier Megan, a little lipo is all you would need! Your skin is nice and tight and firm and would recover well. Let me feel it next time you come over and I will show you my lipo area (plus I had to have a tummy tuck) Heck, last time Amy was over poling we were downstairs with our boobs out examining each others boob jobs! And just at that time, my sister "Sublime" (she is a SV member) walked in on us!
Lyme Lyte Basement Studio: Where you will feel sexual not from only pole, but feeling each others bodies! LOL

On this topic, I have been pondering my own weight lately. Not negatively, I don’t care what numbers show on the scale as long as I feel good and my clothes fit, anyway I digress. So forever, I have been a max weight of 9st 10, over the last few months it has gone to 9st 13, the only thing I have changed is including small weights in my warm up once a week and i have been working on more strength moves (ayesha/SE/handspring kinda stuff) when poling plus full routine practice. I don’t feel I have put ‘fat’ on (I can usually tell being only 5ft 4) I’m not sure you could put on 3lb of muscle in like 3/4 months. Anyone know? I only ask because weight fluctuation for me is very unusual (excluding a lb or so at that time of the month) and its annoying I’m not sure why! I don’t want tips on how to lose it, just if you think it’s possible to gain that in muscle from what I’ve said?

ShonaLancs- I definitely think you can put on 3 lbs of muscle in that amount of time, especially since you are at an advanced level (doing Ayesha, Irom X training etc). Pole is both cardio and strength training. Pole utilized normal strength training or lifting as it is commonly referred to. However, in pole we also do a type of lifting a normal woman would never do. It's called negative lifting, or letting a weight fall slowly. In this case we are using our own bodyweight. Negative lifting involves a complicated process of recruiting muscle motor units, decreasing intramuscular friction and other things. But the long and short of it is that your muscle can take an extra 40% load during negative lifting. This causes increased muscle hypertrophy which causes weight gain. Muscle weighs more than fat. Yay muscle!

Just a clarification, muscle does not weigh more than fat…a pound is a pound is a pound. HOWEVER, muscle is MORE DENSE than fat, which means a pound or muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat.

Strict body builders can expect maybe 7-8 lbs of muscle a year, so while 3 in 3 months is not impossible, with only pole I would say it is not.

Ah yes, thank you for the clarification. I misspoke myself. Too early in the morning, not enough caffeine! That picture is enlightening. I think I'll look at it when I don't feel like working out. haha

I know about the muscle vs fat thing above (muscle takes up less space) which is why since starting poling I have dropped inches but retained weight. However I have not gained weight on the scales since my uni days back in 2004-2007 and since have been a stable 9s10lb. I’m defo not a strict muscle builder Chem haha, so maybe it’s a bit of both- muscle and fat all sat nicely to keep me warm in this blooming horrible weather 🙂

I am not sure of your age either ShonaLancs but I can tell you that about every 10 year times span your body changes. I had a rude awakening at about 33 when I realized that the diet I used to keep no longer worked for me. My body started processing carbs differently than it used to (I could eat pasta every day and lose weight before). I will also note that muscle retains more water than fat does, so there may be something in that.
And Megan, I was just being a smart a$$. I hope I did not offend…I know I am notorious for that.

chem- I think thats what's happening to me, once I hit 24 I just started gaining weight like crazy and cannot for the life of me get rid of it unless I quit my job and go spend 3 hours at the gym a day lol. I still eat the same, if not way better, I cut sugar and fatty foods wayy down and still keep gainining 🙁 I definitely have seen a lot of strenght gains in that time period too, but fat gains also. And none of my clothes fit any more! 🙁 ugh it's depressing! Any tips? 🙂

You are asking the person who put on 10+ pounds this past year!
Hormones for me were a big factor. When I switched from birth control pills to the mirena I lost 15 pounds in about 5 months without even trying. Even when I went a month without the mirena I lost about 5 lbs. I have tried the progesterone cream but ended up with sore boobs and cramps so I quit. I have had success with 7-keto DHEA in the past but the little bit of gains were not worth the cost. I have also tried straight DHEA (which is so much cheaper) but ended up breaking out and bloating horribly after about a month.
I am constantly experimenting. I will see something in my Oxygen magazine, read up on it and buy a bottle. In about 2-3 weeks I know if it is working or not. I have a few products that work splendidly but it has gotten to the point where the side effects are not worth it to me. Pretty much any thermogenic tweeks out my TMJ to the point of unbearable pain. I have found a few products though that I LOVE taking before going out for the night as they work synergistically with alcohol (but that is a whole other topic). I just ordered another product so I will see how this works.
I will also add that I know there is no miracle pill that is going to melt fat. I still need to work out and watch what I eat. It just gets depressing when things that used to work stop working and instead of a plateau you have a regression. If I can find something that balances out the biologic changes that are happening without causing other issues I will be all over that! And I am not afraid to let myself be a guinea pig, within reason.

I'm 48 and find it really hard to lose weight, I walk 4 miles a day Monday to Friday, and pole 3 times a week, but it's alot harder to lose weight than it was in my thirties. I put on a few pounds last winter but I was also doing more strength building pole work and I had bult more upper body muscle so I wasn't worried but a few pounds of fat snuck on my hips tummy and legs and just wont budge!! I've always has to watch my weight all my life and I think its just my age and heading towards menopause but I dont like it 🙁
