Lyra
Has anyone made a home made Lyra? If so how? And how did you rig it to the ceiling to be safe? Where can you buy a Lyra with a safe rigging? Thanks for any replies!!

OMG I just finished writing a huge blog about circus arts like 5 minutes ago! I have not made a lyra myself, but I was trained by someone who does made lyras. It's difficult because it involves welding pipe. I would not recommend making any sort of homemade lyra. Here is the website of the person I know (Phil Servita) who makes and sells lyras: http://flyingsquirrelconsortium.com/ As for rigging it, you really need to consult with someone who specializes in that sort of thing. You can certainly ask Phil (he trained me in rigging), or whoever you buy the lyra from.

Thank you so much! My husband thought he could make one knowing how to weld and having a shop he could do it in, but for that price I would rather buy one. I have no place to put one currently but hope to soon. Thank you for the info!
