  • M.I.A. – getting back into pole

It has about 3 months now since I have been on the pole. I had such a hectic summer: unexpectedly quit one job, got a job that required me to be away for days at a time, pole studio closed, crappy pole room at home and my house has been under renovation.

I have finally come to a point where I can get back to what I love! Finished my job and I am moving into a new apartment (with improved pole space)! The only problem is I am reluctant to start and see the progress I have lost. Same for stretching; I had my splits down to 2 inches left and now I am terrified to see how much flexy I have lost… 😞

Has anyone else had to start over? I just need some advice and motivation to kick my ass back into gear.

Ease back into it if for no other reason than to reduce the risk of injury.

I’ve had to start over again, beginning two weeks ago. We had a horrible 14 months trying to sell our house. The pole, yoga hammock & anything else not the ‘norm’ had to be put to bed ready for any last minute viewings. Thank god we finally got an offer, at least for the coming weeks that we’re still here I can make a start. I’ve lost a ton of strength but kept some of my flexibility, I’m sure that things will only improve for each of us. πŸ™‚

I am coming back now after 7 months!!!! I hate that the break happened, but it was due to a house too!! We moved and had lots of renovations going, so there was not even a floor in my pole room for months and there were contractors everywhere! I have just been trying to get my over splits back because everything is harder without them. I have been skyping a lot. That keeps me motivated.

I’m pretty sure every pole dancer goes through this at LEAST once!

That’s a really good idea Blondierat, it doesn’t matter at all where you are on your journey, it’s lovely to see it happen. I feel connected to everyone who posts things, like I’m able to cheer them on.

It’s been about 7 months for me also, after having spent just over 2 years progressing through to Intermediate level (almost ready for Advanced) and life got too busy and I couldn’t be bothered with the 1 1/2 hr return journey to my nearest Studio. Recently discovered StudioVeena and have just signed up for the 3 day free trial atm to give it a try. Did Day 1 of the 30 Day Take Off today, I’m assuming it is probably best for me to ease back into it this way and go back to the basics, hopefully getting back to the level I was at before too long. Hearing nothing but good things about StudioVeena, so excited to be back poling again from the comfort of my living room this time πŸ™‚

I’ve been off the pole for about 3 months as well. My studio also closed, but I have finally found a potential new pole home. Hopefully we can encourage each other to stick with it. Best of luck I’m sure you’ll be in great shape in no time πŸ™‚
