  • MOV to AVI Conversion?

Posted by MommaBear on February 6, 2011 at 8:48 am

I read an extensive post on this, and now I can't find it.  My wonderful new digital camera records HD quality videos, however, they end up in MOV format.  I tried the converter suggestions (Pazera & AVS) and the end result is Mr. Roboto videos – the output file is super choppy.

I'm not even sure if I am outputting to the correct file type (AVI)?  I want to be able to edit the videos in Windows Movie Maker.

    Any suggestions?

I use a website called http://www.freefileconvert.com. If you are using Windows Movie Maker I normally change it to WMV file but don't know if thats the only one, it mike also make ypour video less high quality. My camera auotmatically creates avi files which I can't use on Windows Movie Maker.

Shako, I'm hesitant to use that one because you have to convert it on their website and I don't want my pole videos ending up in cyber space for everyone to see. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

Jenn, I tried that one also and the end result was a very choppy video.  What file type to you convert to?  I did AVI, maybe I'm using the wrong output type?

I highly recommend Super C (Super Converter).  It's free to download and will transform just about anything to anything!

My camera is the same, it makes MOV's that I would trasfer into AVI, or FLV.

    Just Google it! 🙂
