He thought I was reluctant to let him in because my apartment was messy, which absolutely was NOT the case("it's ok, I've seen it all!)! So I opened the door and…that stunned "duh" that men have when they see your pole…yeah, so I just hope he overlooks it and he doesn't mention it to anyone ; / And then I was thinking, um, maybe you haven't seen it ALL ; P

I have had some really amusing reactions from 'man folk' regarding the home pole. Bless their hearts. ; )

My pole is in the kitchen and sometimes I  forget it's  there and wonder what the postman or whoever I've answered our door to is preoccupied with looking at, its the pole!!  The meter reading man came the other day and he was totally mesmorized by it, so much so he walked  straight into it!!!  oops 🙂

My maintenance guys have never said a thing or made a face about my pole. The office staff knows I have one too, although they were a little surprised about it.

Recently I showed my little brother my recreation room for the first time. "Sweet! Bus seats, accordions…got your record player, and… uh… a stripper pole….riiiight" One of his friends when he was much younger was there. It was SO ackward. Remembering them playing around when they were like 7 years old, and having the friend tell me now 22 yrs old  "You're looking goood as a mo'fo by the way" Thanks honorary little brother lol.

I keep hoping someone will make a comment but didn't happen yet. You can see my pole from the door step and a few delivery guys saw it but they always make like nothing is there even if my boys are playing around…people are too polite to be fun here

I had a bed delivered last year, then a couch 6 months later. The delivery guys come inside and say, “I thought this was the house with the pole!”
I foster dogs and have had a few people over to meet dogs, last person loved the pole.
My favorite reaction was when a couple missionary’s came to my door. I was on mid pole when I saw then walking up my driveway, figured I do a couple more tricks on my way down. After their short visit at the door, one of them said, “um…enjoy the rest of your workout.”. Last time they’ve been here.

I too have answered the door mid pole workout to missionaries. There’s one lady in particular who brings her young daughter along as part of her sales pitch. She looked a bit peeved when I opened the door and they never came back either. Score one for pole IMO ^_^

My elderly landlord lady lives in the house next door, I got a knock on my door…she said can I use your bathroom I locked myself out, my son is on his way. She walks past the pole and shakes her head and says never a dull moment. I asked if she wanted to stay but she said she would wait in the car! Lol

Haha I have had home inspectors, plumbers, appliance repair men, and exterminators all in my apartment where I had the pole in the middle of the living room, so they all saw it. All have been good sports about it and not creepy, but they DEFINITELY remember the apartment with the pole.

I actually just remembered something reading your post corbyoconnor…I think I had blocked it from memory. For a while I had a very creepy landlord with a notoriously bad reputation (didn’t find any of that out until after signing my lease) and he sent me a text one day saying “hey I like what’s in your living room you should give me a show sometime.”

I was totally disgusted because I hadn’t noticed him around, so my firs thoughts were: is he peeking in my windows? Coming into my apartment when I’m not here? Going through my stuff? He even offered me a “deal” on rent if I would dance for him and that he was “intrigued.” VOMIT!!!!!!

Told him in no uncertain terms he could not pull that shit with me. Moved out as soon as I could. Funny enough, after I made it clear I had no problems using his texts against him it became impossible to get anything fixed that was broken. What kind of a moron actually puts their creepyness in writing?

So yeah. Keep your heads up, ladies. Even people who seem okay at first might not have your best interests in mind. If anyone makes you feel unsafe do whatever you need to do to assert and protect yourself.

Ugh. That is horrible. Sorry you had to go through that, but also happy to hear you stood up for yourself! What a creeper! Though some people would be that damn creepy even if there was no pole in the living room. Be safe ladies!

@PoleDanceRomance… that is horribly gross and creepy! I am glad you got out of there. You are so right about doing what one needs to do to assert and protect themselves. That is just way too creepy!

@Sanbar… I guess she could have used the bathroom in her car as well. I know that isn't very nice of me to say. ; ) That was polite of you to open your home to her, too bad she had to be all head shaking and making passing comments.

Two roof inspection guys came by my house the other day – my pole is right in the doorway to the kitchen (and the doorway to the kitchen is at the front of my house!). The younger guy said nothing, but the older guy said "Wow! Are you an instructer?!" when he saw the giant "Life Looks So Much Better… Upside Down! http://www.thepolegym.com" sticker on the back of my car. I was so surprised I mumbled lamely "Uhmmm…. no, just a student. I'm advanced so I help out sometimes I guess.".

Surprisingly, it's more common that I get positive feedback these days – I'm never shy about it and tell the whole world, wearing pole merchandise everywhere I go, telling strangers, inviting guys and girls to my gym. I guess my positive attitude towards it (along with numberous talent shows and programs being on in the last 2 years featuring pole fitness) has rubbed off on people!

My pole is outside on the deck…nuff said. Lol.

Let's just say the party house across the street was pretty stoked to have a 'stripper' perform for them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif
