Hello everyone! I do makeup/hair styling and the other day in chat people were asking about different looks they wanted to see tutorials of and I had been meaning to start doing tutorials anyway so this will put a fire under my bum to do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I wanted to see if there were any particular looks or techniques for applying makeup you guys want to see tutorials of? Also my boyfriend does hair and he will be doing his own separate hair tutorials, so if you have any hair tutorials you would want to see, let me know. Veena was very awesome and made this section after we were all discussing makeup in chat and trading beauty tips, so now we have a place to talk about makeup (my favorite thing besides cupcakes) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

do you know how to get smooth roots when curling your hair with an iron. Like I know i could blow it out really well before doing it or iron it out but that just seems to take FOREVER. I’ve been using the iron alot for pinup style looks but want to make it easier so I can do it more often. Thats probably a weird request https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

oh and my hair is curly. Oh i just noticed this is for makeup! oops but still https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I would like to see a tutorial on a sultry bedroom eye look. Think Angelina Jolie, only maybe a little more subdued? I’ve looked up tutorials on her look before, and they all do really, really heavy eyeliner, which I’m not into. So maybe a sultry look with a brown, or just less of the black. Something you could wear out pretty much anywhere and not feel like you were out of place because you’re not in a club or something.

Awesome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Mine is a hair question.. How do you make these kind of curls?

    http://girls-fashions.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/hairstyle-ideas-for-curly-hair.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have really long & thick hair, so if it’s a certain cut that works better for these curls, then that’s doable. But when i curl my hair, it always looks bad. (Even if I wrap the hair around the barrel to curl it, like as if I was using one of those clipless curling irons)

I bought curlers at Sally Beauty that will give this type of curl called CurlFormers. The only bad thing is that they take a while longer than I am used to to get a curl and are really meant to be left in over night.

I also know that think hair is not the ideal hair for this look. When I curl my hair it gets REALLY poofy because there is so much of it.

Check out some of the you tube videos on the curlformers.

Most people on this site are probably way beyond this, but could you do something like a basic stage/performance makeup thing? Maybe start with what sort of tools and stuff you need and then go on from there. In case you can’t tell, I really know nothing about this! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Thanks for offering to help though.

Thanks for posting everyone, I will get on top of this starting today. And I will definitely be doing a tutorial for stage/competition makeup, I know there is a thread on here somewhere about it but I can do a video for the visual learners out there too. So far I’ve had requests for:

    Natural smoky eyes
    Smoky eyes
Smoky eyes with silver and black eyeshadows
Makeup that is flattering for 40+ skin
How to apply eyeshadow to Asian eyes
    How to apply liquid eyeliner
How to create the cat eye wing tip eyeliner
    How to cover undereye circles

    Keep them coming! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I would love to see a look for light black eye liner and red lips and maybe a natural way to create fuller lips or make your lips apear fuller. I have long red hair with a light complextion and black eyes, I was wondring if you had any color suggestions that might look nice with my apperance. Thanks Glitter, and anyone else who might have suggestions! Pinky!
