Mentor?
This might be a long shot, but I thought I'd try.
I have been in the fitness industry for years and I've often mentored new instructors to get them certified and trained on their specific formats. Now that I've fallen in love with pole, I'm the one looking for a mentor. I'm in the process of getting my own small studio where I can offer pole classes as well as classes that compliment (such as Pilates and flexibility classes). I even have a male instructor (a previous gymnast) training to teach with me. I have some exciting ideas but would be very interested in hooking up with a mentor that could talk me through the good the bad and the ugly of owning my own studio.
There is very little pole community or knowledge where I am right now, so getting someone local doesn't seem possible.
So if there is someone out there that is doing this, or maybe has done it and learned some lessons along the way, I would love to get the chance to talk with you. I appreciate any help that any of you are willing to give to help educate me so I can teach and serve my community.
You can respond here first, or contact me directly at fitoneva@verizon.net.
