So I had felt good about my pole climb until I watched a couple of videos of myself. I’ve been poling for about a year and am able to climb no problem. However, it’s not very pretty. When I bring my legs up my stomach comes to the pole. I have to push away from the pole with my legs after I re-grip with them and climb up. After watching several videos here I realized I want my butt sticking out like in a sitting position as I draw my legs up then stand up. Is my core just weak (I know it is but is this what I’m lacking?) Any advice or anyone had the same problem and overcome it?

What hand grip are you using? Any video :)?

My grip is pretty much the “pole hold” on the SV gallery. I’ll try to post a video after I take my son to school.

The basic pole climb I teach is for strength building. Have you checked out the other climb variations in the lessons?
