I’m doing a couple of workshops and a semi-private with Michelle Stanek in a couple of weeks – super excited!! I usually like to try to prepare for workshops and lessons by studying up on the instructor a bit so I can get the most of the experience. I have been trying to search and watch videos of her and of course there are tons and tons of things I LOVE (why else would I be so excited!?) but I can’t seem to find out if she’s known for certain signature tricks or combos. I really like to know that in advance of a lesson or workshop so I can see if it’s also something I’m interested in learning right now/have the flexibility or strength to learn right now. So I was just wondering if any of you lovely Veeners happen to know if she has certain signature tricks/combos and any picture/video links to them?
    Thanks!

P.S. I realize that studying up in advance of a workshop/lesson is kind of overkill… but I really want to get the most out of these opportunities! I don’t want to wind up going to a lesson with a certain request that winds up not being a strength of that person (for example, I would get more out of asking Cleo the Hurricane to help me with splits moves than I would to ask her to help me with backbends).

Floorwork!!! If I were taking a semi private with Michelle I’d choose floorwork! And or floor to pole transitions. If you watch her vids you can tell she’s super modern/lyrical and super sexy! I’d want to learn that knee roll she does around the pole. I’d want to learn her version of the b-boy (middle pic) and anything else that amazing woman wants to teach me!! Jealous Γ°ΕΈΛœβ€°. Have fun!!!!!!

I took a group workshop with her earlier this year and LOVED it. It was mostly floor work/transitions and a couple spins. She definitely taught the pirouettes on the floor around the pole and the b-boy move in the middle pic. She is all about keeping the movement flowing and avoiding awkward breaks in directions. I would consider her “leaping” spin around the pole one of her signatures, but I have no idea what the name is. She does it in one of her USPDF routines πŸ™‚ enjoy!

Anything that appears in her routine is a good request. And I think preparing for a workshop in advance is great. She’s got many really nice aerial transitions and combos in her routines as well, so you can request these, according to your level. I love the leaping spin btw, I just call it Michelle Stanek spin πŸ˜€
