https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I’m 46 soon to be 47 and just started poleing. Best thing I could have done!! I say men buy harleys and sports cars when going through a mid life crisis and women start poleing…lol. I too worried that I may be too old and not strong enough, young enough, fit enough…but I have set this as a goal for myself and am progressing each time I have a session. LOVE IT!!

My current goal is to get to a six 6 before I hit 40. If I make it, I’m getting hot pink highlights. I’ll be the hottest poling mom in the PTA!

That’s great! I got my bellybutton pierced once I hit my goal (which was to lose 20 lbs and keep it off). That was 2 months before I got my pole!!!

At first I was hoping poling would help me with weight loss, but now I am working on weight loss so I can pole! I’ve started a blog even – Please visit me at http://www.midpolecrisis.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (ha ha!)

I think all of us started out that way. Glad I’m to not be alone. Welcome you are going to love it here.

I am 53 and have been doing this for 4 years. I have been a Pole Dance instructor for 2. So I say "HELL NO" you are not too old for this amazing form of fitness. Just another voice in the many you have received.

nope you’re not too old https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I’m 41 began a couple of years back but due to lack of practice (my own fault!) I haven’t progressed as much as others of similar age and duration… doesn’t matter how old you are, if you like it do it xx

NO WAY!!!! I’m 45, started poling like 2 yr ago, I have a pole buddy who is 60! She’s a grandma with a teenage grandson! I started to pole to feel better about myself (low self esteem) but now, I ROCK! And so will you. Don’t let your age get in your way. You can do it!!!!

    Hi There,
I started at age 42. I had always been interested in the art of pole for as long as I could remember. At 42, I started to feel empty and lost. I have 2 great kids, and a wonderful husband, but all of my time and energy was being spent taking care of them, the house, my job, the yardwork…blah, blah, blah….I was taking care of everything else, except for me. I decided enough was enough, and thought I’d try polefit as a way of getting back into shape and feeling good about myself again. All I can tell you is: It was worth the trip! I toned up, lost weight, and got my "Sexy Back". I fell in love with pole dancing, and now am striving toward being the best I can be at it, as well as create a little side business (Pole-Tastic In Home Pole Parties), in hopes that I may inspire women, who are just like me, to live a little for themselves ~ regain who you once were…That’s where I’m at in my pole journey…I hope that whatever your reasons are, you at least give it a shot. Don’t worry about the age thing. Age is a number, not a state of mind.
Good luck in your endeavours, and hopefully we will see some vids of you on Studio Veena!

    Regards,
    Kalli

I agree with everyone. I’m in my 40s. I love pole dancing and it has been great for my strength and fitness but more importantly just for me. Life is short. Try everything you can. I notice your first post of this question was a couple of weeks ago. I hope by now you’ve taken a class or bought Veena’s lessons and will soon have an update for all of us.

Pole skivvies just posted an article/interview about a pole dance group for women over 50.. if you haven’t already, check it out, even if you’re younger than 50! The women in the pictures really are amazing! Gives us hope & inspiration & goes to show that age doesn’t have to be such an obstacle if we choose it not to be!

I took a few classes at a local studio and have since purchased a lil mynx and Veena’s online lessons. I’m having a ball! I’m so excited that there are other women here near my age. You all give me something to strive for. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

I started dancing at 42 and opened my studio at the age of 45…that was 5 years ago! I plan to keep going for a long time yet.

That article doesn’t reflect the update for the group which last week decided to include women age 40 and up…and you don’t have to be interested in competing to join. There may be upcoming gatherings and in any case it’s about supporting the over 40 community so if you’re on Facebook and 40 or over, please join!
