Mighty Grip Powder? has anyone tried it?
Posted by PatSmack on August 30, 2012 at 8:32 pmI am trying to increase my spin speed but my skin just slows me down! even after toweling my hands and pole I still can not achieve more rotations. Joining Studioveena has literally blown the door open to moves, transitions, and spin speeds i never seen before. Is Mighty Grip powder a great product to use? Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what products would be good to combat the pole hands.

Are you having the issue of being too sticky so you can't get around? Or are you so slick that you just drop? Are your hands sweaty, or so dry that they are too slippery if slickness is the case???

I love mightygrip for my body. Like, between my thighs, knee pits, legs, basically anywhere my skin grips on the pole during different moves. It really helps if you find you slide too easily. 🙂

Yes my skin just seems to want to hug the pole which makes transitioning from move to move quite cumbersome. With it doing that I end up burning more energy and producing more sweat trying to reposition and position myself comfortably on pole so i get slippery and needless to say its hello face to the floor.

If you are that sticky naturally, you may need just powder. Mighty Girp is sticky to me.

agreed with luvlee. if you are naturally sticky, then you do not want a grip aid. I have had a couple of students that had too sticky issues, I actually had them put a dab of lotion or jojoba oil (a drop or two) and rub in their hands. Let it soak in for like 10 minutes at least. I think a powder may put too much between you and pole and make it too slidey if that'sa word! lol My stuff will stop any sweat issues, but does not make you grippy. So that's another route. But try the lotion thing first. If you use oil, ONLY jojoba, it will soak into your skin and not sit on top.

The only way you will know for sure is to try a sample. Please send your address to
sales@mightygrip.com and mention you would like to try a sample. We will be happy to send you samples.

I'm always sweaty when I'm all the pole. Too sweaty, so I'm always sliding.

I heard you weren't supposed to use it on multipiece poles cuz it could get in between the pieces and cause them to stick together but I don't know if its true or not. I use heavy duty hairspray and it works great for me and I just bought a pair of Mighty grip gloves with tack and love them! I stick like a gecko.

This is definitely not true. Mighty Grip activates with the heat of the body. If left on the pole it will cool from the room temperature and eventually just fall off the pole. Of course if the room is at body temperature (98.6F) yes it will activate on the pole. Not too many can work in that kind of heat. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

because of crooked fused hands it is impossible for me to grip a pole like normal so I use mighty grip gloves with tack and wrist protectctor with tack over that. Of course I cannot do much on the pole right now but before the old hip shattered I found putting a little mighty grip or I think its ITac on my thighs and inside legs. I totally have chicken little legs and thighs so getting a good grip is hard for me. I wish I could manage without any tack or prodcut but I will probably always have to use it and the gloves which give me the extra padding so I can grip the pole. I didn't know about the pole issue with grip if you had pole thaat had sections…they also have mighty grip ankle grips with tack ..again without them I could pole because of my bones. So I am a mighty grip fan.
