Hi Everyone!  So, I just ordered a couple garments from Mika Yoga Wear for the first time.  I just wanted to know if any of you have purchased items from there before.  Did you like them?

I went back and forth about them because they're a little pricey (about $36 for a sports bra plus shipping).  Are their products worth the money?  They look great on the models, but what about on a regular (non-model) body?  I ordered the Mikaela and Lucia shorts and the Ella top.

I've been looking for shorts to wear to pole class for a while and it's so hard to find shorts that are as short as they need to be (but without being underwear).  Where do you get your pole gear?

I bought Mika shorts off amazon a few months ago (having never heard of the brand) and I adore them – my favouritist shorts! They are ones with drawstrings up the side so I can make them longer or shorts and fit my sizeable booty without riding up into my butt crack.

Intending to buy lots more when I have spare pennies 🙂

@CaseyT – OMG! They look great on you!  I think those are the same kind I got (but in a different color).  I can't wait to get them!  ðŸ™‚

I've had the Mikaela shorts for a while and just recently bought the Lucia shorts (w/out the drawstring around the waist). I love both of them! The Lucia shorts are great for when I want to have full coverage and still look cute, and I can pull up the drawstrings on the Mikaela short when I was to show off a little bit more booty, lol. They are my go-to shorts, I love them. 🙂

I guess it depends on body type and how much one's comfortable revealing? I heard the mikeala shorts were more revealing so I didn't order them. The Lucia shorts looked really revealing also? I wonder if they're more or less revealing than the kiki shorts?

I have both the betty and kiki shorts, which I think are really flattering but at the same time I wish there was more coverage "down there." Esp when you're in a studio in the daytime w/ natural lighting coming in. But I'm semi ok w/ wearing them in a more dimly lit studio.

Yay!  I've been wearing Mika yoga products since they first launched.  I think the side-string shorts are still the best … there's a reason they're practically a uniform in hot yoga classes. (If you do Bikram, you will recognize the poses of the models on the Mika site!  I love that they have started to market to polers too though).  The company Shakti Activewear (http://www.shaktiactivewear.com/) makes similar side-string shorts that I like even more — the fabric is so light, it really feels like you're wearing nothing.  I have piles of both brands 🙂

just a note– i have a really short rise and all the mika stuff comes up pretty high on me and looks like… a diaper. a pretty diaper, but still.

so, if there are other people out there with short rises, keep this in mind!

I just got them in the mail last night!  The fabric was a little different than I expected, but I really do like the drawstrings on the sides (I like my shorts a little cheeky).  The Ella top looks nice too, but I'm still a little bit self-conscious about showing so much mid-section (unless I have to for a move).  Oh well, it will give me something to work towards.  LOL  ðŸ™‚

I'll take them on a trial run in class tonight and let you know how they turned out!  🙂
