    Hi,

I want a big mirror so I can see what I’m doing when I’m pole dancing, but I don’t want to fork out a huge amount of money.

    Any ideas?

You could go to a cheapy store and buy a few door mirrors. They are long and skinny and you mount them to the back of your door. I bought a few from target for $5 each and plan to remove the crappy frame and mount them side by side on my wall – Cheap and easy!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I did what PoleDork suggested for one wall (although I didn’t take the frames off) and this may not work for you, but my pole is in my bedroom right in front of out closet. We have sliding doors on it, and we had planned on replacing them when we moved in. We ended up buying mirrored closet doors https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I don’t need a full-length mirror now, it makes the room look A LOT bigger, and I can see myself on the pole (only from a certain side, the pole can’t be centered right in front of them without me kicking something).

Just an idea, but if you’re looking for super cheap, go with the full-length cheapo mirrors and take off the frames.

    Cheers, that is an idea.

I’ve been checking on line and the cheapest big mirror (silver backed glass) is about £60 ($80-100) and I really don’t fancy spending that. Asides from video taping myself and playing it back and it doesn’t exactly help form as you can’t see what you’re doing at the time. I also look a bit Eastern Block Gymnast from the 60’s.

I got five of the cheap $5 mirrors at Target and took the frames off. Just be careful when you take the frames off and wear gloves, becuz when I was scraping the glue off I slashed my left hand open… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I mounted four of them in a row and put the last one on its side on top, which provides the perfect range of view. I just used those sticky mounting strips (also Target). They work great. Some of them are a little "funhouse," but it’s totally worth not paying a ton of money! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

We don’t really have a store like target in ol’ blighty. I think the nearest we have is Asda (same as walmart) or poundstretcher. I’ll have a look though. Been researching it on the web and found some mirror film. Thinking if it’s thick enough I could paste it to some big board (conti or mdf or something) and use that. Anyone else heard of it/used it?

Hmm, I know Veena’s a big fan of Ikea; I think she mentioned they have great mirrors (I could be wrong though, don’t quote me on that) but you could go to their website and pick out lots of huge mirrors for really great prices. Or if you have craft stores like Michaels, I know they always have mirrors on sale there https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

They advertise lower prices in my local pennysaver than on their website. 72×100 is supposed to be $165 US dollars. 48×100 is supposed to be $125. I contacted them to order and hopefully they will honor the price listed in the paper and not tell me they sold out of the cheaper ones. I’ll let you know when I talk to them tomorrow.

I don’t know about where you live, but Craigslist often lists free mirrors from bathroom remodels. You just have to be able to transport a big piece of glass.

Definitely check Craigslist! I got a massive 4’x7′ mirror for $30 on Craigslist!

Also, I got great deals on wide full length mirrors at Lowes. I tried Home Depot but Lowes had better prices.

    Good luck!

I went to wal mart and bought the skinny door mirrors for $6.00 ea. i think. I took the wood off around it and stuck them up side by side all the way down my wall. It works good and done the job!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif
