OMG it’s so close! And I have a major problem!

Ok, I had a song, outfit and routine all planned out in my head for the Miss Xpose competition later this month.

Then….I got my cast off and started dancing to my song. I realized I’m nowhere close to where I was before my surgery dance wise (not that I was all that anyway, but the stuff I could do I can’t do so well anymore). The song I chose has a certain level of confidence that I can’t pull off right now in my injured state. I’m just not feeling my music anymore.

I got my shirt and shoes in the mail yesterday and the shirt does not fit me like it fits the model in the picture LOL. It’s not bad but….I’m not feeling it. I’m not feeling the whole look I had planned in my mind. And it hurts to wear heels so I might have to dance barefoot…which I HATE!

We’re snowed in and I have more time to turn in my music. The turn in date was today but we have been drilled by snow storms and have all been given an extension for submitting our music so I feel this is a sign. I want something funner then what I planned and more upbeat. Something I can have fun to because in my state I’m not going to be anything close to technically perfect (not that I would have been anyway LOL) but now I’m on a music hunt for a fun song that moves me.

I’m at a total loss and in the midst of the biggest brain fart!

    HELP!!!!!!!

don’t worry about no heels!! Don’t stress that foot. I say just pick a the song that you love the most right now and go with it. Turn on the radio for a few hrs and write down any song you love. Pick 3 spins and 4 pole tricks perfect them then go with the flow. Seeing you dance in your vids I know you can do this!!!! Don’t stress just be happy you’ve got such a sexy arch now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif

HUGS!!! I know we talked about it recently. Find that song that you love and cant get enough of. Your gonna be fine. Like Vanessa said "if you entered and dont win, your still a sexy bitch!". I think going barefoot might make you stand out in your catagory. Im heading in there today to practice since they have finally opened.

Really hoping both of us take home a crown! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Thanks guys! You are all so suportive. You have no idea how much that means to me. I was so nervous but I told myself to pretend like I’m dancing for you guys. Like it’s a studioveena challenege and I’m making a video for my peeps. If the audience was filled with your smiling supportive faces they’d have to drag me off the stage. LOL

It looks like I might be able to wear some shoes. I tried some out on saturday and it felt ok. I’m a little unsteady on my feet so I gotta work on that but at least I don’t have to worry about trying to point my toes on a foot that doesn’t even point yet. LOL

omg how did i miss this thread??! Sissy you’re gonna do great! It’s natural that you may have lost some of your technique while you were in your cast, but thank goodness for muscle memory, you’ll have it back way before the competition! But honestly though, I saw what you could do while you were still IN the cast, & hadn’t poled in over 2 weeks & it still looked like you had never been off the pole anyway!!!! Just focus on practicing the tricks you plan on using for your routine. I also think it’s normal to have last minute self-doubts, but you gotta remember how awesome you are!! and i agree about the having fun part- focusing on having fun instead of on winning will make you less nervous & more confident, and this will show through in your dancing!
Good luck girl i’ll be cheering for you from all the way across the atlantic!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I know the first year there was a live feed but it wasnt that great. Im not sure about last year (i was a mess from giving birth 2 weeks before the competition) if there was a live feed. From my understanding the girl who was doing the feed, wasnt getting great signal in the room and couldnt find a wireless connection.

Sissy, you are going to be AAA-MAZING!! I know how the nerves feel, just let ’em go and have a blast when you are dancing. Everyone there (and on SV!) will be rooting for ya!!

I cant wait to see everyone rockin’ the pole! It always brings tears to my eyes, lol- I am so proud of our clients https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
