I’ve seen this move done a lot and I think it’s really cool but I have no idea how to go about trying it since I can’t find any tutorials or anything…I mean I guess you obviously just let go of the pole and grab it again with your thighs before you’re on the ground but are there any tricks to it? It seems like with a lot of pole moves there’s some sort of trick to it (like a push/pull, where to get leverage from, etc) so I just want to find out some info about this before I try it so there’s not a broken Glitterhips! Thanks everyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

(I call that one the nose breaker, but I’ve also heard it called the death slide)

I think either one, I’m just interested in learning how to drop down the pole like that but be able to control it so I don’t break my neck…but I would be more likely to learn it the way Kelly Kayne does it because her back is facing outward so if I fell I’d land on my back instead of doing what your move is called :-p

ooohhh those are both cool moves, but i think that the way kelly does it is harder, because she gets into it from a shoulder mount, and seems like she holds the shouldermount ‘pose’ without really using her legs much.. i’ve been practicing this the way lola does it- i just can’t seem to slide down as fast as i would like to yet.. guess it’s just a matter of a lil practice!

yeah Kelly is a superhuman pole goddess, I have decided…how do you get into it the way you two do it?

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Kelly Kayne? I know that she was listed as a contestant in Miss Nude Canada in 2008. I googled her name to see if she posts any new pole material. To my knowledge, she has no You-Tube channel and has produced no pole videos recently. There was a porn blogger using the same name a few months back (it always came up when you tried to google her name–the blogger spelled her name the EXACT same way). Then, that individual disappeared from google searches. I always wondered if the two had had any sort of legal dispute over the use of the same show business name.

Kelly was such an awesome poler. The clips that float around You-Tube are from the early instructional VHS tapes she did with Fawnia Mondey (Diectrich), I believe. Is Kelly still around? Retired? If anyone knows, I would love to find out what’s up with her. I re-watched that link you put up, Glitter. It was one of the videos that got me interested inpole dancing. I still consider Kelly’s body wave to be the gold standard.

I don’t know if anyone has heard of her most famous claim to fame–but reportedly, she won her Miss Nude Canada title back in ’06 by performing a strip tease balanced on ONE ARM. I have seen a still photo from the competition site. It is simply beyond belief. According to legend, she got into the club business on a dare from her sister to appear in a local wet-t-shirt competition, walked away with the cash prize, went into the club and nude modeeling business and never looked back!

It’s hard to see in Kelly Kayne’s video but she is essentially starting with a nose breaker and then performing a shoulder dismount from there. She does it very fast and smooth and from a scrunched up inverted crucifix for added effect! Sarah Cretul did the same move in her number for USPDF, you can see it in this highlights video at 1:56 :

You’ll need to get comfortable with both the nose breaker slide down and the shoulder dismount to give it a go!

I’ve watched the Kelly Kayne vid a couple of times in slow mo and she’s not really sliding like in a nose breaker (though that’s probably more to do with the pvc boots than anything else https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ) her feet stay put until she releases them for the shoulder dismount. I aint trying that one, it’s scary! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

For the Nose Breaker try and get as high as you can up on your pole then slowly slide down, experiment with stopping yourself as you come down to the floor then from that you can speed it up and put your arms out to the side for effect. Just be careful when trying it for the first time on a different sized pole, a higher pole means more momentum can build up on the way down so you’d need to start the "brakes" slightly further from the floor than you would from a smaller pole.

There’s not really a trick to this one per se, it’s more a case of being comfortable with the slide and being able to judge when to squeeze your thighs together to stop. Once you’re happy with that then you can start to play around with the speed of the drop or where you want to be when you stop.

I once scared the hell out of some people by doing a really fast nose breaker and only stopping with my nose about three inches off the floor https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Have you seen Alicia’s death drop? (It is an amazing drop from the death lay in the end of the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRFVFOA-VRQ ) Her entire performance is great but the gran finale is amazing!

Hooooly crap. I can’t even do a death lay but that’s another thing on my list of "Maybe if I get good enough one day…"

LittleMissLola, I did try the nose breaker and I was able to do it but I slide down super slowly. I guess I need to just get more comfortable with the move so I can spread my legs a little farther and slide down quicker. THanks for the tips everyone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah, that girl has balls, seriously. I can’t say if I ever managed a Death Lay that that would be my dismount of choice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Glitterhips, congrats on that! Yeah just get comfortable, also you may want to try some "emergency exits" from the move, it may build your confidence. One time I misjudged where I needed to put the breaks on and wasn’t stopping in time so I put my hands on the floor, tucked my head in and rolled out

LOVE the death lay drop!!!  I've been dropping from superman into scorpio and I hate doing it …. I'm going to go try this tonight.  It looks like a superman drop into a kind of shoulder dismount??
