Right, I’ve been working on one of these for a while, a fairly comprehensive one that will include aka names, variations and transitions into and out of each move. It’s a lot of information so the finished product could be a fairly long way off, but right now I have got it into a format that I like, and I’m working on gathering photos of some of the moves. I’d like to ask a bit of a favour, if anyone has any photos of moves that they wouldn’t mind me using could you please let me know which ones and where I’d find them?

Here’s a list of the names of the moves in my list at the moment (I realise a lot of these will be different names than the ones you may use and I would love to hear the alternate names too as I will be including them in the formatted list)

okey dokey, this is such a nifty idea, so we thought we’d add what alternative names we have.
We’re doing it too, so the collaborative effort may work wonderfully.
I’ve put our names in brackets.

    Basic Invert (Alley Oop)
    Bow and Arrow (Cross bow)
Brass Monkey (inverted Goddess with Alternate grip)
    Butterfly (Lotus)
    Cross Ankle Release (Fantasy)
    Cross Knee Release (Figure 4)
    Extended Butterfly (Extended Lotus)
Gemini (Falling Angel and there’s a fallen angel which we’re trying to remember what it’s called!)
    Iguana (Extreme)
Shoulder Mount (Respect, from floor is respect from floor)
    Wrist Sit (Hand held Venus)

Thank you so much Rouge! That’s a big help.

One question though, your Fallen Angel, is that with inside leg hooked or outside? (I use a different naming convention with the whole gemini scorpio thing so I thought it best to clarify) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

ok you’ve motivated me to take some more pictures! Don’t know if you’d like them, but i’ll post them in my profile here, and feel free to use any that i already have up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

Azriel, I love the photo of your plank, but I can’t seem to copy and paste it. Is there any chance it’s on photobucket or something similar and you can pm me the link so I can try to copy it from there?

Also anyone else got any more pics?

erm, inverts still scare me. I prefer reverse aerial spins like the hurkey or the Ushiro.

I’ll ask the "Luscious Miss T" (my business partner) for clarification as I can’t remember which is which either.
One is the fallen angel and the other is the falling. Vaguely think the inside leg falling and the outside is fallen.
They’re from the Pole Addiction manuals, which we used to use.

Ah, the Ushiro. It is like a reverse Hurkey (aerial atitude) but with legs like the classic Bruce Lee posters.
Lower leg (inner) is straight and top leg is bent. Body, from waist down, is as close to 90deg from the pole as you can get it. Needs a very controlled and strong "flick" to get into it. Needs a lot of room.
Bit of a toughie, but so pretty and so much fun.
If tall or long legged, you’ll need heaps and heaps of room… (180cm / 6ft radius from the pole minimum)

Photo once I get back to studio

    hi Lola

I put some shots on our site today of Lisa doing some poses, we have the fallen angel on there.
website is still under construction, but hope it helps. As we get more, then we’ll add them for you.

cut and paste if that doesn’t work.

    Cheers

    Rouge.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

There were only 6 and they were all taken pretty close to Lisa.
The only other reason for possibly looking cut off, is the monitor here is an old editing one, therefore wide screen.
It looked ok at home, but then, all I have at home are widescreen too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Lisa’s our head tutor and is amazing to watch.
They were taken on a camcorder, with me sitting on the floor – hence the odd Dutch Angle (filmy term).

We’ll get more up as we shoot them! The student shots are of one of our trainee tutors, she’s less scared of inverts than I am… but she’s terrified of freestyle!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

    She’s dancing from 4"20" onwards.

You also get to see how horrific our old studio colours were too.
