My boyfriend’s favorite pole move
I did several demo dances Saturday night, boyfriend saw them all. Yesterday we were taking a walk and he said "Do you know what move of yours I like the best? It's so awesome, and when you do it it's absolutely beautiful, so graceful." Now, I was expecting CAR or even plank or butterfly or something like that. Nope, it's the front hook spin. The plain-Jane front hook. He says "I know you do a lot of bad-ass stuff on the pole and it's really cool and I love it, but what I really love is that move you do when you have one leg on the pole and your legs sorta look like a diamond, and you spin."
So for anyone who may be lamenting the lack of tricks you have in the bag…keep in mind that what is very, very simple for us is beautiful, graceful, and amazing to someone else.

That's so funny! My boyfriend told me that was his favorite too (although I haven't learned anything too advanced, just some intermediate stuff – but still!) 🙂

Wow this is so funny to me and it use to be upsetting as well. My husband likes things like airwalk and when im doing things with my legs in a headstand. he says its anything that makes me look long and make me appear to be floating. Men are so simple.

My boyfriend is really impressed by the french fireman where you grab your leg behind you and push off.

Charley, that's what I took from it too–that basics and transtitions make the dance. He understands the difficulty of tricks, but when it comes to what he wants to see in me the dancer, it's fluidity and lines and presentation. Now, I think tricks certainly have those things, too, but his POV is interesting (and appreciated). 🙂

my husband loves my spins and stuff much more then the more complicated harder tricks too.

it is kinda cute and amazing how a simple twirl or CAR is mesmerizing to them – don't even get me started on a simple pole bend – boys are so easy haha 🙂

Charley, the french fireman? That's a variation I've never heard of and would love to see. Can you point me in the direction of a picture or video of this move?
