I just recently started dancing again n I have to work an eight hour shift at a time. Can anyone give me some advice on how to make my feet feel better now n how to prevent them from hurting this bad in the future.

    Thanks in Advance

TENNIS BALLS!!! They feel amazing of sore feet! If your taking the lessons I have a video using the tennis ball for massaging the feet and also some stretches for the feet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gifhttps://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4de6aa4a-0590-411e-b482-1d4b0ac37250

Oh, one more thing…do a hot foot soak in some epsom salts. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I second the epsom salt. I have acutally been known to take a full bath in epsom salt when my whole body is sore. It may sound odd but in a pinch some bengay rubbed on your feet has helped me in the past.

In addition to the wonderful things suggested….

Get a pair or two of footundeez. They come in a variety of colors and don't visibly show while wearing most shoes. I have a pair of clear platforms that you can see just the tops of them through, but I wear the nude colored ones when I wear those shoes for performances. I put a friend of mine one to them who is dancing full time in the clubs, they saved her feet. Plus, she now wears them all the time. Even in her running shoes….Loves the support they give.

They are like control top panties for your feet. Work like a charm to pad, and support and comfort our feet. Great help for any dancer….especially ones who have developed or are developing plantar fasciitis.

They can be purchased in most dance wear supply stores.

    For sadie: http://www.drscholls.com/drscholls/productSearch.do?method=doProductDetailsLookup&searchArg=93

And try and sit down as much as you can.  Try and get paid for your "time" while sitting and drinking.  Sell champagne rooms if you have them.  🙂

I agree with lilblondie :). If there are pool tables or if there’s someone that is interested in speaking to you or 1 on 1 time, challenge, encourage and/or promote VIP areas and private dances. I wouldn’t recommend alcohol consumption due to personal experience, but if you absolutely must, have maybe 1 shot or 1 mixed drink and drink water for the rest of the night. A trick I did when I used to work in a club was wear low heeled (2 inch) sandals that were sexy and comfortable inbetween performances. I would put my shoes on before I went on stage and would massage my feet before and after performing. It may seem tedious, but it worked for me. I do hope this helps and best wishes!!

Thanks everyone. The Epsom salt worked wonders. N I’m gonna check into the Found things n look at the stuff mighty grip has to offer. The only thing that saved me last time was a guy bought a champagne room for 4 1/2 hours. Don’t know if I can pull that one off again but I’m definitely gonna try. Thank y’all so much. If you think of anything else please let me know. 🙂
