My first competition and I have NO idea what to wear
Hi, I am facing my first competition in February of next year. I have my songs picked out and know what shoes I am wearing. I am competing in Miss Xpose( I figure this is a friendly environment for me to see if I like competition). I cannot for the life of me think of what to wear. I am curvy and busty so I don't want to be too naked or vulger. I am doing all three categories for grins to see how it goes in each one. I am dancing to " Come to Poppa", "lil' Devil ( the Cult), and " the Girl's got rythm. I am wearing my pink bordella shoes(floor/chair), the black and red pleasers with the ribbon(no inverts), and either black patent boots or clear glittery shoes(inverts). If anyone has advice or thoughts on what to wear with the shoes let me know. I am also working through my routines and trying to nail them down. If you have any suggestions on cool moves, spins, or tricks to incorporate, please let me know. I am super excited and hope I don't trip and fall 😉

Congrats on signing up Ms Xpose! I am going for my 4th attempt to make it to the finals. Which studio are you competing at? Im at Arundel Mills.
I have to say right now you have time to think about costumes. Im like you im curvy and busty, I cant just buy what I want and wear it. I have to make all my stuff. I like to draw inspriation from the song or something I love. I have a black leotard that ive worn for 2yrs now. I safety pin everything on so I can reuse the leotard for something else. I have so much tulle from various costumes – its kinda of sickening! Ive also made my own skirt jumpsuit from a Dickies jumpsuit and put a bunch of logos on it – the song was Shut up and Drive.
This is im getting extra creative and spending lots of Saturday nights working on costumes. Costume is only 5 pts so dont put all your heart and soul in just the costumes. The min you can wear is pasties and a g string – out of the years ive been competing I have never seen anyone get that close to naked. Ive seen bra and panties but thats it.
I highly reccomend dress rehersals at least a week before the comp, that way if something doesnt work out – it can be altered or redone w/o feeling stressed.
