I have only worn my pleaser boots about 5 times – and only for a short practice (a few songs, maybe 20 minutes worth) because after that I get too hot! It’s summer here in Aus.

They cost me HEAPS – about $170 AU, and they have ripped already! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif :'(

This is the pair I have – http://www.pleaserusa.com/ProductDetail.asp?div=1_PLEASER&dpt=A_BOOT&ctg=20_KNEE&STYLE_CD=INDULGE-2000&PROD_CD=IND2000%2FB It’s ‘patent leather’ or PVC. And it seems to be a very thin film of PVC over normal fabric. And the PVC has ripped in two places along the outside of one foot. It looks really tacky now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway I wanted to ask if anyone else has had this experience? How much pressure do YOU put on your Pleasers when you use them for pole? Looking at where the rip is, I think it probably happened during climbing, or a stag or peter pan type move.

But I feel that for a leading brand in ‘stripper shoes’ or whatever they’re official called, Pleaser’s PVC boots should be more durable than this!

Maybe I should have bought leather. Does anyone have plain leather boots? I imagine those would be much thicker and more durable, but I also heard that "real" leather was very slippy on the pole?

I’m so devasted, I LOVED those boots! You can see them in all their former glory in my Xmas challenge vid. *sniff sniff*

Pleaser, Ellie and the like specifically state that their shoes are not made for pole dancing. They are just made to have a certain look.

The ones you have are made of spandex coated in a pvc like material. Any friction will make the coating peel. I have the more solid style of both Ellie and Pleasers and with the exception of a few scuffs they have held up well.

Oh noooo I never saw anything that said they weren’t suitable for pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif That sucks!

What are the ‘more solid style’ ones you mean? Can you give me links or names of the styles?

I am on a couple of pole boards and have read this happening before and am just reporting what others have run into when dealing with trying to get money back/replacements. Just recently Alethea had a pic up of one of her pairs of shoes that ripped apart at the strap. I think she said she only had them a few weeks.

The "more solid ones" are like the Pleaser Adore/Electra/Delight. They have more of a skating boot type of construction.

Argh I wanted the Adore or Delight but they said they didn’t have any any more so I had to settle for Indulge. How annoying! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Aw thats so shit Georgia! I had a pair of Pleaser shoes break on me. I was fastening the strap on them and they just snapped. I was able to get replacements. But the damage wasnt caused by being on the pole so maybe thats why… I never knew that Pleasers werent made for pole dancing! In actual fact I thought the complete opposite!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
