1 Not to delete any more topics LOL. Just kidding.
2 Pole at least 3 times a week.
3 Stretch daily (I have been doing pretty well with this one)

ok i have alot of goals as far as the pole:
learn –
handspring, cartwheel, jade split, superman, reverse climb, spinning chopper, twisted grip, extended butterfly, straight edge split, brass monkey, pencil mount, acheive full split/straddle are some of the main onesalso-
lose 10lbs gained over holidays/vacation
stretch daily
pole 3-4x wk
find pole buddy in area
post vids/picsso how is everyone doing with goals so far?

My resloutions are going to start after my exams hopefully
1) Get on the sodding pole (I’ve only been on it once – very briefly this year so far)
2) Get flexible – this will involve stretching every day, and I can’t say I’m looking forward to it, hehe
3) Perfect the "Lola Mount"
4) Get the Stag wih hands off
5) Improve on those moves that I don’t particularly like doing
6) Not a pole related one – Try and get on a circus skills workshop -
so was wondering how everyone is doing with their resolutions
i have been on the pole alot more, strectching started good, but have slacked off, -4 of 10lbs wanted to lose, learned reverse climb, superman (but only way can do it is going from crucifix into handstand, letting feet corss at ankles sliding down pole a little with legs and than reaching behind would like to be able to do from shoulder mount or some other more advanced way but am still happy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif ), extended butterfly, and posted pics now need to learn a few more moves off list, lose 6lbs (better than 10 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) and get back to stretching esp for splits so overall pretty good https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

ive been slacking lately, ive been stretching but other than that just doing floor moves- its hard to fit poling in when there’s school, work, internship, meetings and homework!!!! can i just be done with school already!?!? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’ve been unable to pole like I had wanted. I managed one week of poling 4 times….but then the kids were https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif sick https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_l.gif then I was sick breast feeding issues not vomit LOL thank god. One thing after another. I haven’t been keeping up with my stretching either and I can tell. So now that we’re on the mend I hope to kick my butt back in gear. I plan on doing some weight training so we’ll see…….

so i thought it was time for another check in hows everyone doing with goals?
I have got 2 and half i learned reverse climb and extended butterfly lost 7 of 10lbs strectching hasnt been too good lately have been on the pole more now that have 1 in house (dont have to run heater hr. previous to using pole) still no local pole buddy

soooo i joined recently and discovered this post. It’s already 1/4 of the way through the new year, but i’ll post my resolutions anyways!
1. stretch EVERY DAY! i’m not very flexible at alllll
2. be able to do a split!
3. loose about 10 lbs so i’m back to my comfortable weight
4. pole at least 3x/week
5. get some videos up on the site
6. weight train more….i am strong, but i need to be stronger so i can easily lift my 5’10" 160lb body!

8. i would list moves i want to learn, but since i’m a beginner and i dont know many besides spins, the list would be much too lonnggg.

ok well have been getting on the pole alot (shorter sessions, but more frequent)
and doing ok with stretching

been doing good with eating well and working out almost everyday (even if all I have for is my 48 lunges and 50 squats I do at work in the morning if I dont think I will have time/energy for more later)
Have taped a couple more dances and have put $$ aside for a laptop so can post

I was just browsing though the forum and was wondering how you all were doing with your resolutions? ???????
I still haven’t managed to pole 4 times a week and haven’t gone back to the weights yet either. I had a really frustrating pole work out yesterday so I think I will do some weights this afternoon. I feel like I’ve hit a plateau as far as moves go…just because I’m lacking a bit in strength. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif Pole dance has transformed my body soooo fast after having Henry that I have to remind myself I gave birth only 6 months ago!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif I’ve been taking it slower than I thought I would, or could for that matter. I really only dance 1 or 2 a week. My goal was 4x but I just have been trying to listen to my body and my mind. Give my body the time it needs to rest in between work outs and give my kids the time they need with their mommy. They grow sooooo fast, I’m at a point right now that I don’t want to miss out on making cookies with my kids because I wanted to go pole. Even though it is "technically" part of my job. So I feel my dancing may be suffering a bit because of that but…I try to keep my dancing from interfering with my family time so it can be a hassle, I’ll skip my work out during the day with the intent of doing a night pole and haha that never happens. -do inverted moves as well and as gracefully as Veena and Fleur

-be as fluid as Glitter https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

The 2 that I really think will help with my pole progress are
– Lose 20 pounds
– Get my damned splits back https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gifThen in general…practice more…create a pole space for myself and keep the damned pole up…and at some point dance for my husband.
