I have ballet slippers which are great for dancing and I can still split heel and cupid in them so they would be ideal I think because pole does do a number on feet.
Thanks, Charley, I will have to check into getting a pair!
I am a barefoot dancer, but not by choice. In my heart, I’d be in stilettos ALL THE TIME. Sadly, I have bad feet – a couple of surgeries and they still aren’t right. I have a hard time even in flats, and can’t be barefoot on hard wood any more. Very annoying. So I pole at home on the carpet, barefoot. When I go out, I wear these little kitten heels I got at Payless. They are super cute and were extremely comfortable – I could dance for hours. But then I wound up bruising some bone in my big toe in the last week, and now EVERYTHING hurts. Really hope this heals quickly.
In the meantime, I thank god that, while I may wish to be wearing me some boots, I can at least look perfectly normal as a barefoot pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Nike golf shoes, lol! (I removed the cleets)
They are 100% real leather so they do have pretty good pole grip. I have too much dangerous hardware at the bottom of the homemade pole to be safe in bare feet, so the shoes provide good protection from the two mounting screws at the base.
I’ve kind of screwed up my ankles and achilles tendons from so much bike riding, so the supprot of a solid shoe feels good.

someone is most likely going to kill me soon for dredging up old threads but I’m having fun reading the old stuff….
home learning new stuff barefoot. In large part because for now I’m on carpet (that should change next month) out and about heels heels heels. I feel best in heels. I work at a job that I pretty much have to wear tennis shoes and hate it. I trip about every 3 ft. Put me in stiletto’s and I can run https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif its the elf feet I swear…

Hehe ill post on the old thread too! I LOVE heels I have to say they make me look tall (even though I’m 5’7 lol) and thin and I think they are sexy as hell! But I usually practice barefoot or I wear "footundeez" which slip on and cover the balls of your feet to make turning on hardwood easier!

7" Pleasers for spin class and naked for static/aerial… Don’t know why, I just prefer spin in heels. I have real trouble standing tall and pointing my toes in heels though. Shouldn’t it be the opposite? If I’m not walking ‘sexy’ around or to and from a pole (not holding on or anything) I can’t balance in heels… really weird.

All kinds of naked! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Yeah, no desire to wear heels. I can’t even manage the regular like office type pumps. I have been thinking about something, maybe, though. The floor that I dance on is very rough cement. I can’t pivot or turn really at all on it. Walking and spinning is just fine though, so I don’t know. Any way, Bare Feet!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

I wear heels at work all day so I like to pole barefooted. I also put down mats on my floor so it feels nice under the toes and I feel more connection with the ground and pole.

I can’t imagine trying to dance in leg warmers I have enough trouble trying to stick to the pole as it is. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I’m a heel girl in normal life too, even my flip flops have 3.5 inch wedges and most of the time I feel they aren’t high enough https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh yes! Naked baby! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I love poleing barefoot.
But when practicing pirouettes I put on socks, which is why I really should look into footundiez.I do see heels in my future, when I start poleing at home. The heels are just for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I wear heels or sneakers. Sneakers are good if I need better balance to master a move or if I’ve bruised/injured the top of my foot. Barefoot has been banned at my local studio, but before the ban, I liked it for dancing and spinning. I can’t seem to climb barefoot without banging up my feet really bad. It hurts. I’m not sure if I don”t have proper technique or if one just toughens up over time.
