My BF got me a camcorder so I can post better videos of my poling. But when I started filming, I ran into some problems. When I film with the cam upright, it cuts me off at the neck. When I turn is sideways, it cuts my legs off during my inverts. I’m putting the camera in the very corner of my room, as far from the pole as possible. I never had this problem with my webcams. Is there anything I can do besides removing a wall?

Also, all the videos and photos I take with the camera has yellowish blotches all over them. I know the lighting in my room is bad, but this camcorder was meant to be used to in low lighting. I also took some videos in another room with better light and it is still blotchy. My webcam also never had this problem. Is my camera faulty?

On top of that, I have a new laptop with windows 7 and when I take photos of the video stills with window movie maker, the picture comes out teeny tiny. This wasn;t the case with my old laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I really want to start submitting vids where I odnt; need to moves in super slow motion to prevent blurring, but I’m running into so many issues.

i had the same issues with my flip ultra HD. i bought a small wide-angle adapter lens kit from best buy, glued it on, and have had no problems since.

I went to the Sony store and I was told a wide angle lense only makes it wider, more panoramic. My proble is that when upright, the veiw is wide and short. I’ll go in and see if Ican get a second opinion.

I have the same issue with my camcorder – I have to get a good 10 feet away before you can see the entire pole. I have heard you can get different lenses for camcorders – I just started using my digital camera – it takes good video.

AS for Windows 7 movie maker. I was having issues with, not the same ones you are having and my research came up that I need new codecs. Webmaster can help way more than I can because I just downloaded the new codecs and movie maker has been working fine ever since.

I actually went out and bought adobe elements but it doesn’t work well with my laptop at all.

Pinnacle has a good trial as does Corel – I should have stuck with eithe rof those two programs.

yes, it makes it wider and more panoramic, which is what you need.

this is a litlte sample video i took a while back for ottersocks, who had the same problem. you can see the view iwth and without the wide angle lens.

Wait, maybe I’m confused. But the videos on my camcorder are already very wide, it’s mostly cutting me off at the neck, it’ s too short. I’m I using it sideways? The vidoe I’m takign are right side up though. Sorry if I’m not sounding very clear, I’m not very useful around electronics.

a wide angle lens is going to make the image on the camera appear as though it’s zoomed OUT, and further away, in all dimensions, not just wider in width. look at hte image on the video link i posted. look at where the curtains are without the lens on, and with the lens on. if you did that to your camera, that would be you getting cut off at the neck, versus all/more of you showing with the lens on. there are no other options short of getting a different camera. wide angle lenses are the only thing that will help you get a wider and taller picture.
