Veena I realize your very busy right now with the baby, but when things settle down a little bit more and you start making new video lessons, I have some requests If at all possible I would like to see the following: ( i believe you said you were planning on doing more when you had some time if not disregard rest of post)

    Death Lay
    Jacknife
    Hip Hold
    Jade Split
    Combos

    Thanks in advance! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Death lay? Seriously? If I ever considered learning that I’d want an instructor right there in the room with me, not on video. It’s one of those moves if it goes wrong, it’ll go spectacularly wrong. Scary, scary move

I can imagine it is scary https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif and prob very good idea to have spotter i would just rather have someone teach me the correct way of getting into/out of move as safely as possible as well as get any tips or advice Veena may have on this rather than attempt it by watching videos on you tube of people who are not only not breaking the moves down, but may be doing it incorrectly Of course there should be a warning to people who may want to learn it it is a very advanced and dangerous move and people should be remindied to use a spotter, mat, and common sense ( if you haven’t completely mastered superman and feel very confident holding yourself in that position don’t even attempt death lay basically being honest with yourself about your level of training on the pole ) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif I was just requesting some diffrent options If a requested move is deemed to dangerous or there’s just not alot of intrest in a moves thats fine, just throwing out some ideas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Oh, don’t mind me, hehe. It’s just I know a lot of people who won’t even post written advice about this move online. No matter what disclaimers, big neon flashing signs saying "don’t do it" etc there’ll always be at least one person who will try it before they’re ready for it and hurt themselves. I think it’s imperative for a instructor to be in the room for this one because they are the ones who can watch you do your preps and say "yes, you’re ready" or "No, you need to stick to the preps for now"

    Just my tuppence worth https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

oh i agree there will be someone who is just determined to go for broke before they’re ready https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
as for me though in my area there are no instructors closest is in Rhode Island (next state over) or Boston (which is an hr away) I wish pole dancing would pick up in this area there are no classes ect around here
i am going to try death lay eventually, but i know i am not ready for it yet like i said just suggestions seems not too many people post so trying to keep things moving if it’s put in lessons great, if not will search out a tutorial when i am ready to try it

so anyway does anyone else have suggestions for new lessons? seems i can usually think of so many things i want to learn, but now am drawing a blank https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif how bout the "scorpio handstand" (i think thats what it’s called) its more to the side of the pole like being in chopper position except in form of handstand and to side of pole theres a way you can kick your leg around the pole and make yourself spin around the pole to come out of it have seen it on you tube same girl that does "superman for charlie" and "the marley" it looks simple enough but when go to do it can’t really remember what is suppouse to go where https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Oh, I do understand your position, it must be difficult being so far away from instructors. Is there any chance of doing real time online lessons via Skype? That’s the next best thing. I don’t know if Veena offers such a service at the moment?

Scorpio handstand? You mean like this? How do you spin it?

I have all of these including the Scorpio handstand on my lesson list….One I didn’t have on the list was the Jack knife, but I’ll add it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I don’t offer online lessons right now. I have thought about it but.. web cams, Internet connections, along with time zone differences can create frustrations https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif I’m not sure if it would be worth the trouble. If I ever get lots of interest in people wanting online lessons I might consider it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

see my comp.is downstairs and pole is in attic so i just watch videos and try and copy what i saw as far as hand or leg positions I wish i had a partner in crime around here to start (Finally!!) a pole studio in the area i know i’m not the only person outside of Boston or Rhode island that has an intrest in this https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

the picture you showed is close, but your legs are more in a butterfly position i’m talking more chopper legs straddling the pole in a handstand position, but to the side of the pole than you can extend one leg, whip it around and quickly grap the pole with atleast one hand so you can spin quickly (if you can get good momentum going into it on spinny mode looks better, but is harder easier w/boots? if i could just get it together with learning how to do things on this (comp.) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif there’s a video that explains excatly what i’m talking about, but i don;t know how to paste the web address or whatever to link you to it well i’ll have to check out those lessons Venna thanks for the response https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

how about some lessons on spinny mode? so many of us seem to have that option i though it might be nice to have some lessons on combos on spinny i think i said it before but i like pencil spin, open legs and wrap around pole to go into thigh hold invert, come up into wrist seat, and do a (almost) drop split or come down with legs sort of in a pretty pose https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

thats the one https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif seems simple enough, but can’t seem to get the concept when am actually ready to do it

came up with my own little handstand variation https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif but of course i had just shut off camera bc was getting frustrated trying to do shoulder mount https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif ( like the chopper& butterfly i can do sometimes but not always) had a good practice today https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif i have been going on pole and taping a little everyday so can post at end of month everything is really random so have to go look at challenge list and pick one so am not just aimless clips still dont have a solution for posting, but think will be ok am going to talk to someone at best buy about suggestions i was given so we’ll see pics will be up tommorow if all goes well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

Ah don’t worry, the snap and spin isn’t simple! I always need a mat when I do it as mine seems to go "thud" on the ground. Also I do it further from the pole – I did have a vid somewhere but goodness knows what I’ve done with it!

Yay, hope you do find a solution to your posting problem.
