Thanks for the suggestions 🙂 I'll try them out and see how it goes!!

My concern with the tooth paste is…it's a gritty substance( a super fine grit, but still a grit)…and over time it could compromise the finish on your poles…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

It totally worked!!! I just tried it out of the shower (with a little dry hands on top) and I totally had great grip. I do agree with the grit compromising the finish over time, but hopefully it'll be ok for a short period of time. Thank you so much!!

Remember the original instruction was to rub the toothpaste on, then wash it off with warm water. There shouldn’t be any grit left on the hands to be scratching the finish.
I’m gonna give that a try today! I also have super sweaty hands and sometimes it just feels hopeless when they get bad.

As poledanceromance sed u run the toothpaste onto dry hands and thn rinse off and thoroughly dry and there should be no grit on ur hands to affect th pole. Also try rinsin with cold water as I’ve noticed that helps abit more than hot water. Dnt no why, lol. xx

Weird, where I mostly need grip help is in my knee & elbow pits (so dry & slidy!). Ok abt to hop in shower w/tube of toothpaste & finish those two areas off w/the toothpaste, as I have a rehearsal later this afternoon for a show our studio is putting on… Question is, will the effect last thru the next 8 hours? (I have a hair appt & wedding to go to in between…) Well, I guess I will let u all know afterwards if it worked! Toothpaste! LOL

I do believe I will be trying this today! Plus, I'm teaching a climb & invert class. All of the girls are dealing with grip issues from sweat so it will definately get a well rounded test.

Hope it wrks as well for u as it has me me and others tht it has helped 🙂 I also tried rubbin a small amount on my pole which also worked a treat aswel. Let me now how u and the class get on huni. 🙂 xxx

I rubbed a pea size amount on my hands making sure to get around my thumb and inbetween my fingers then rinse with luke warm water until the white color dissolves (about 15 seconds) then pat dry. There was no grittiness or residue to get on the pole. Then cleaned pole with Rubbing Alcohol and it worked like a charm! Nice secure grip without that tacky 'stuck' feeling of using grip aides. I could still slide my hands around on the pole to manuver by not gripping so tightly but when I was in full squeezed grip they weren't going anywhere!!!!

Uh, this is MAGICAL. I have the sweatiest hands of anyone I know, and usually sweat through Tite Grip about halfway through a session, and ten seconds into a freestyle…but with Tite Grip on top of the (washed off) toothpaste, I had no problems at all. Holy wow.

@ jag:
if toothpaste is gentle enough to polish teeth (enamel), i suspect it cannot be coarse enough to harm the finish on dance poles.
??

@Chumpchkin – really glad it help, I’m the same I suffer from bady sweaty hands I can barely do a soon without having to wipe my hands and pole, lol. but soo glad I found this ace solution. xxx

Hey all! I am just posting this to tell you guys to be careful about using this option. Toothpaste is not meant for the skin. It can cause skin irritation.
Here is some info that someone else posted. Thought you should at least know about it.
