I just put up my new Xpert 40 mm brass from Christmas as we've been renovating the house. We had issues with the complexity of the Xpert than my simple  older 50 mm chrome x pole ( top loading? ).  Putting it up and trusting it was scarry as the way it goes up involves twisting the pole…..and my problem is that the pole continues to turn in static. So below I pasted and copied the help I got from Xpole tech support. I copied it elsewhere on the site as well. Phone support is usually more helpful than email I've noticed. Thanks Heidi @ xpole.us!

I'm gonna try this tonight and hopefully it works. unfortunately now my wrists are weak and tired from typing:( LOL

attempted to re make it static and the only part in contact with those bottom screws stayed. The rest of the pole up to the dome was able to keep turning and turning so I called tech support.
*the problem seems to be the "Vertical Screws" placed toward the bottom ( but are hard to see due to the flare out at the bottom of the 40 mm) – they've become loose. These are usually locked tight by the company pre ship.
-to fix this you will need a 3 mm hex tool ( not included) as these screws are different than the size we work with ourselves.
    – The written directions per phone help is
    1) If pole is up-take down.
2)unscrew height adjuster enough to see 2 vertical screws- (to be tightened).
3)may need to rotate bottom to reach the flat section. Tighten!
put up pole and test before use. If more problems to call back. The email support was no help. Asked for a pic of the problem and my invoice number ect! Said my explanation didn't make sence. Anyway gonna try it tonight! Fingers crossed!

This is why an x pole makes me nervous. I dont need X joints, A parts, B parts, hex keys, stuck parts, broom handles etc. Just give me a damn straight up pole…one piece and let me screw it into the ceiling and make it permenant. And have some pol time. Really want to try an X, bu the more I read about themm ugh, that would be no.

This is an update, with my husbands help we used one of the hex keys the pole came with and it worked! It was pretty easy.
