    Hello,

My name is Kamara and Im 20 years old and live in London. 🙂

I’ve been interested in pole dancing for a while now but I didnt think it would be something I’d ever do. A few weeks ago I decided to just go for it and buy my own pole. My x pole xpert came two weeks ago and Im so happy.

But Im having a few problems with it. Firstly I put the x joint into the A and B poles and tighten it but they still come apart. I dont want to oventighten it and damage the inside but I dont know when to stop turning since it feels pretty tight already.

Also I know that the pole extentions come with the x joint in them but Im having trouble untighten it so I can tighten it properly. Im scared to do some damage if I try and twist the hex key too hard. Is it really meant to be that tight? Is that why my poles wont stay together? Im so confused and I just want to get started now! Im just scared of damaging something.. I only just about got the money to afford it!

When you put the A and B together first you need to tighten them a little bit on each side and then yes, tighten them a TON.  All the X Joint is is an expansion joint.  There is no way you will create enough force with that hex key to damage the inner wall of the pole;  I am pretty sure that the key will snap before you can exert enough force to go through that amount of metal.  It should go to tight and then try to get another eighth to quarter turn out of it.  DO NOT be wimpy about it or you will have issues.

okay thanks 🙂 My pole is together now! But now Im having trouble getting the pole to stay.. I put it up and it was fine but then the pole shifted a little when my brother tried to do a simple spin on it. I used a stud finder and level to make sure it was okay. Im not sure why its moving :/

I had this problem last month and it turns out it is pretty common. Two things are possibly wrong. The first is that the joist in the middle is "jammed". When this happens every time you spin on the pole it moves and bit by bit comes down from the wall (which is obviously unsafe). If this is the problem you have to take it down and unj- am it with a broom (no joke)- check out the instructions :

If you're sure it's not jammed. Ensure that the three screws at the bottom under the cover slip are tightened. They loosen every so often and just need to be check.

    Hope that helps!
