It will get better. Welcome to the world of poling. We all started somewhere and the pain and frustration are highly rewarded when you nail moves for the first time!

No pain, no gain. Unfortunately the pain is very much a part of pole dancing. Instead of being down about it try to be proud of it! If you are experiencing too much pain you might want to start slower. Everyone has their starting point and as long as you keep it up and do your best you will progress!! Don’t get down on yourself, especially after your first experience with the pole. Everything takes practice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif . It will come.

Oh man… I am still waiting for the pain from perching to stop happening…. it still bothers me, but it’s not nearly as bad as the first time. You’ll notice that things will get easier. Also, when I’m doing spins and stuff I honestly feel like I look awkward as hell, but after reviewing my video after practice I come to find out that I was actually pretty graceful! Just keep working on it, and remember that poling is sexy! =P

It will get better!! I do wanna make sure that we are talking about pain, as in skin contact, like hands and where skin grips the pole right? If some moves are causing sharp, sudden pain then that’s a move your either not ready for, or may not be using the right technique. Remember sore muscle are good, pain that doesn’t stop is a signal that something is wrong. Your skin will get use to it though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yeah it is pain from the skin on my inner thighs. I was practicing some basic pole sitting yesterday and today my inner thighs are sore from the pole pulling on them.

Thanks everyone that made me feel better. I knew it would get better like everything usually does, but it was nice to hear it from the experienced pole lovers.

It is painful when you first start but the joy you get once you have loads of moves under your belt you won’t feel the pain. You will look like you have been beaten some days from all the bruises but they heal quickly. Welcome and enjoy the world of poling. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif

Thanks everyone I have been practicing every day and you are so right! My thighs hurt now but not nearly as much and I can feel my arms getting stronger daily. I can actually do a nice fireman spin now.

I’m just wondering how much pain os normal pain? I’m making sure to leave a day gap between poling as I saw Veena suggested in a forum. Yesterday was my first day. Today i’m so sore all over. Its bearable, but my muscles are so weak and sore. I try and stretch, but they seem to just tighten up again. Did I push myself to hard. Should I have a go on the pole tomorrow even if my muscles are still sore? (Although I may find it hard to throw my legs at the pole with all these bruises!)

Its normal to be sore the next day. Get up and move around a bit dance, but don’t do any tricks or spins, or go for a nice walk, if you sit around you’ll feel really stiff. Take a super hot shower or bath then stretch gently. Never stretch a cold muscle especially if your sore and stiff. Epsom salts are great to add to your bath for sore muscles too. Most drug stores have them and they usually come in a paper milk shaped container. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I should also mention that if your having sharp, stabbing, constant pain in a particular area of your body, then you might have an injury, but if you the pain is achy, dull, and stiff thats normal. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif
