Newbie Dancer
Posted by Bob Zamora on September 27, 2011 at 12:20 pmNewbie to the site. Beenpole dancing since March 2009. Some of you know me from Facebook or Blogspot. My dance is a mix of modern and classical ballet on the floor, spinning and static pole. Not much into the fitness or gymnastic side. I'm a dancer and being a guy I get lots of interesting reactions. 😉

Hey! Glad you stopped by to say hello https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I'm excited to discover a male dancer who prefers the artistic side of pole rather than sport! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

@Veena, My very first lesson started out as a fitness pole lesson. About half way through my teacher asked me if there was anything I would like to try. I said like what? She said, how about some basic spins? Been hooked ever since. Did my first freestyle that night to Coldplay. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Let me add my welcome!
I've been travelling to Cape Town quite a lot recently and was helping my friend who owns a studio there by teaching her male class on a Tuesday night. I would be fascinated to know what moves were easier to learn, moves that are not possible, moves you enjoyed learning? I know with different 'equipment', you need to take a slightly different approach to poledancing?

yay! Another dancer! I do like the artistic side of pole, and sometimes I feel we can get caught up in the sport of it rather than the creative free-flowing fluidity of it. I'm actually taking ballet now, and boy is it haaaarrrddd! just to hold the position!
