    Hi,

I’m new to pole and terribly excited to get stronger and learn new moves.

I tried the 30 day Take Off program, but find it easy. Is there a more recommended start for a beginner?

Also, I am not used to heels at all, but want to start using them atleast to pole (They look sooo cool! ). What should I be looking for to buy a good pair? I was just going to go with 5 inch platform heels (http://www.thepoledancingshop.com/5-inch-platfrom-ankle-strap-sandal/#.VKmEJyvF_oE ). Any suggestions?

I think those shoes are great to start with.

Agree with the Pleaser 5 inches. I have the chrome 508s and they are perfect for beginning in heels. I’ll buy 6inch next. Though I love barefoot training.

If you nevered pole with heels and are not use to them I would start short like 4″. That way you can start building up your confidence and strength. Then once you do, you can start moving up. I’m at 8 inches now 😉

I started with 5″ because I don’t wear heels in my everyday life, then you’ll notice that 5″ is easy, so then you go up from there.=) I’m a fan of Pleasers, but if you have some cash to burn then a nice treat are Glitter Heels, but you have to give it a month before you get them because the lady who makes the heels basically makes them as you order them. Discountstripper is a good website to buy from. Also try to get the shoes where the toe area is a little wider, so you feel more supported. Sometimes you’ll put on heels where the front section of the foot might be a little more narrow and if you aren’t used to heels you may feel more wobbly.

If you think that the 30 day was easy try doing DVD’s Cleo the Hurricane has 2 good ones that really kick your butt. She has Rockin Legs and abs and then her new own where it has sections that focus on strength and she teaches different routines. Really cool. If that doesn’t tucker you out, then you may want to head to a class if there are any in your area.

Thank you! You guys are so great!
I think I’ll start with a 4 inch after all. 8 inches is truly incredible!
I’ll check out Cleo the Hurricane’s DVDs too.

For now, I started with the beginner videos and I’m thinking of doing the strength video once a week, go to the pole studio nearby twice a week and work on the actual moves and technique twice a week. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get started! 🙂
