I just cannot get the no-hands Cupid and it's driving my crazy!  I can do the Knee Hold and other things that require knee pit-grip, but for some reason this isn't working.

Are you ladies pushing your hips forward when you do this move, more so than the Cupid with a hand on the pole or leg?  It's helped me a bit to have my bottom foot on the pole, have you found this as well?

    Thank you for your help!

Hello! I'm quite comfortable with the no hands cupid now! The key to it, for me, is a very warm pole and body, if I am slipping I put some Itac2 behind my hooked knee, and also more importantly, when you hook a nice tight knee pit grip with the top leg, and put your lower foot on the pole, PUUUUUSH those hips forward and engage your core, if I don't puuuuush those hips forward it's pretty much impossible! This sorta locks you on, and if I get it right I can stay like that for AGES!!! And just hang there, and feel secure. And yes I have my bottom foot on the pole 🙂 I can try and take a video if you like

Thanks!  If you post a video I'd definitely appreciate it.

I have gotten this move a few times, and it probably was a warm pole.  When I try it right away, I slide right down.

It’s very similar to the knee hold, because you are pushing the hip forward. Also make sure your hooked leg is not too high, let it slide down a bit so it’s around hip level. Push like mad with the bottom extended leg 🙂

This is unfortunately one of those moves that I got for a while….and then couldn't get back!  I definitely remember pushing hard with the bottom foot.  I think recently I just haven't been pushing the hips forward enough.  Thank you ladies for your help!

I had a good tip for this one from a workshop – which was to place my foot on the pole slightly above where I was hanging and push up – this had my locked leg at more or less 90 degrees – and yes – very much need to push your hips forward. Must say, I find this a lot easier on a 45mm pole than a 50mm and I have to do it in bare feet…In this shot I haven't got my hips forward enough, but I could get away with it as it was on a 45mm pole…
