I just wanted to let everyone know that due to creative differences I have ended my partnership with this studio. I am becoming a member of the USPDF and getting my certification next month at a USPDF sponsored studio just so I can have certification.
I also have been spending time at every other legit pole studio in Atlanta, Ga to get to know the girls that instruct, their style and the style of their studio and I'm impressed at what I've seen.
I want to make sure that whatever studio I go to I will be happy and feel like I'm in a family atmosphere and that I can grow and blossom from everything. I've been spending all my time with Studio Veena completely learning by myself. So learning every studios new pole language is a little bit of a barrier but that isn't going to stop me! Also the shoulder mount and extended butterfly that I was unsure of trying until I was spotted correctly- I PULLED OFF SEAMLESSLY! I almost fell off the pole in that invert because of pure shock and wanting to jump around and squeal in excitement!
I still plan on uploading some videos of me- I have to make my pole area a little more- well- lets just say its in an unfinished basement- which I plan hanging drapery on the walls and making it pretty for the videos- which I plan on taking care of tomorrow. Every day I'm dedicating it ALL to pole/floor and exotic fitness. Its my life, my passion and I've never felt so strong and fit and confident.
I still consider myself intermediate because my transitions during freestyle are a little so-so (I forget all the things I know and have trouble recalling my tricks during improv- plus I work so hard and my endurance needs work too). These issues could use some 1 on 1 work.
I'm able to execute the beginner-advanced moves on Veena's site- that half handspring and full handspring mount is also going to require a instructor to spot me or I wont feel confident to pull it off first. Just knowing someone has got me if I cant do it- and having those handy pole mats are very assuring. I will be figuring this one out soon!
I'm so excited. I'm ready to compete with the USPDF maybe in the 2012 line-up (this is just an idea but how quickly I'm progressing it wouldn't be too hard to get where I need to be and submit my audition video for them!). I'm ready to instruct for the right place. Meanwhile I'm looking for GoGo dancing positions just to get some money. If anyone knows of anything around the city involving dance- PM me.
Until I acquire an instructor position- I will be taking classes with the studio that I'd like to instruct for so I learn their way and if I'm not good enough to become an instructor- I will work my bottom off until I am good enough.
I want to keep on keepin' on. As horrible as I felt leaving the other studio by my own decision. I immediately hit the streets the next day putting myself out there and went on foot to every Studio in Atlanta. 🙂
I've seen some really great stuff, some really talented ladies and I've taken some classes that made me realize my killer quads aren't half of what I thought they were! Intense stuff!! I had a test out for placement.
I'm ready to go all the way. But Studio Veena has been here for me through it all and I will continue to support you in every way I can! You've always been my metaphorical spotter and backbone support system and I cant thank your site and the beautiful ladies on it enough.
Much love!
Miss Lala
