  • No motivation for stretching?

    Anybody else feel like this?

    I know that when I take the time to stretch I get pretty awesome results. I got my split and my back flexibility makes some tricks look amazing.

    But….

    I haven’t done my stretches for almost two weeks. I noticed a huge difference in my bridge- my back didn’t look like it bent at all!

    I know I’ll get my flexibility back if I train it again but ugh- it’s soo boring!
    And it’s hard work- I don’t find it relaxing, I find it work!

    Anybody else have this problem?

    I HATE STRETCHING! I effing hate it. It's so boring and painful! Grrr!!!

    But I make myself do it. 

    Yes I notice a difference when I go days without stretching. Recently got my splits but then I took a few days off and I regressed a little. It's how it goes. I think I just gotta push myself to like stretching more. So I recently started taking yoga. Its okay but you know.. the whole stretching part… grrr..

    i hear ya!!!  i hate it too!!  im starting to incorp after cardio during my cool down.  but i dont like it!!  im hoping that the alethea dvds will inspire me to add more of it to the routine.  lets keep our fingers crossed!!

    Hmmm… I love stretching. Even if its painful at the time, after I feel so much better. I think that is what has transformed me into loving it.

    Thats great that results keep you going. Have you tried distraction during your stretching? Do you have any favorite tv shows you can watch while you stretch? What helps me is to stream internet videos that I like or have my favorite playlist running so I have some good music. 

    Maybe that could help a bit?

    I also love stretching…but….have you tried the stretching routines on here at all? They are easy to follow so you could do what JeHanne suggestied and watch TV (this is what I do) or listen to music while you follow along with me in the lesson. Then you don't have to "think" about what to do next when stretching. Otherwise find a buddy, see if a friend wants to come over. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

    Stretching IS hard! I completely agree! Admittedly I am still near the beginning of my flexy journey, that being said, I have NEVER been this flexible and I feel it when I walk even. I think if I didn't have the flexibility routines on StudioVeena to keep my brain busy I wouldn't be able to stick with it as I plan to. Are you trying to get more flexible or just maintain at this point?
