Hey everyone! I'm still a beginner pole dancer (only been about 3 months). I started out taking lessons in Ottawa (Canada) but just moved to a city where there is no pole studio. Since I was SO addicted to pole I purchased an x-pole and decided to teach myself. Finally managed to get a respectable twisted-grip hold. WOO-HOO!

The only problem is that it is rather lonely. I don`t have many friends in this city yet, and the friends I do have do not have any interest in pole. It`s getting rather lonely. I feel like I just annoy people when I talk about pole dancing.

So I am hoping that I can chat to people here, or maybe their are other pole dancers that are feeling lonely in their small cities/towns. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas how to find other pole dancers in your area?

I definitely understand & have felt the way you do many times. Joining Skype or google + jams with SV members is a great way to get additional support & motivation.

Another group of us will also be group jamming on google + tomorrow 3 pm PST/5 pm CST/6 pm EST if you are interested in joining us, just PM me your google + username & ill add you to our chat for Friday 🙂

There are also a few SV members called the Flexines who also do a stretching/pole jam chats on Tues, Thurs & Sundays. PM me for log in info if you are interested in that.

I live out in the boonies, there is a studio in town, but I haven't really felt like "home" there as many people say about their studios. I try all the time to get my friends to pole, even my hooper friends seem to shy away from it, even if they're all about aerial work like silks and lyra. I WILL find a pole buddy.

I can totally relate. The closest studio is about an hour and a half away and nobody is interested in my new hobby. I'm hoping this site will give me all the contact I need to self-teach
