This is a little of a vent and rant and all the above but I recently entered a performance that I was able to perform in last year and this year I was not chosen. It is hitting me hard that I am not progressing like I once was and I am constantly feeling like I am missing something that could be moving me forward instead of frustrating me! I am hoping to get some serious training tips, a mentor, or something to push my pole game up like 20 million notches here! It is hard because when we start pole, we learn a lot fairly quickly and it is exciting and fun! Then as we get to the more difficult moves we slowly find ourselves learning at a different rate and it gets to be discouraging. Combine that with the fact that I don’t just want to be good at pole but genuinely want to be like the pros we all watch and admire so deeply! This just adds frustration! This community is always here for each other and that is why I am reaching out to you all for advice and resources so I can really start making some progress and kick some serious pole ass! Thanks guys!

There will always be setbacks and they come in different packages and colors. Try to see them as deviations to the “mean value”. Highlights and success peaks are also deviations to mean. After rain or sunshine things will go back to normal again, and by not giving up when you meet resistance once in a while you will gradually increase your mean and take your so call “normal” performance higher and higher.

Maybe there were other reasons to you not being chosen to perform this year than that you are not good enough? Is it possible to contact them for feedback? Maybe they want to give other performers a chance or they want to include different styles etc and therefore had to reject some?
